Because of Republican state senators’ inaction, Philadelphia students, seniors, and working families are being punished. If they want to turn their backs on their constituents, PA Senate Republicans always have the option to vacate their seats so someone else can do the job. (2/2)
Like Republicans in Congress fled DC to avoid voting on releasing the Epstein files- Republican state senators fled Harrisburg rather than passing REAL transit funding. This is not a game. SEPTA didn’t choose to cut its services. (1/2)
August is National Immunization Awareness Month. The simple truth is vaccines save lives. While the Trump administration spreads disinformation and cuts funding to critical vaccine research programs, I’m committed to keeping our community healthy!
Under Trump’s budget, people in rich ski-resort towns will see up to 14 more times the tax cuts than the average Philadelphian- cuts paid for by gutting Medicaid and SNAP food aid. I voted against this disaster-ridden law and will keep looking for ways to repeal as much of it as possible!
Thanks to Trump’s reckless tariff taxes, this year Philly families are paying on average 7.3% more for school supplies. House Democrats have a bill to #TakeHisKeys & return tariff authority back to Congress. How high will prices go before House Republicans join?
1. Slavery was bad. 2. Elementary-school students can understand that. Why doesn’t Trump? 3. Does he think releasing the Epstein files is too “WOKE”? Did Trump forget he promised to lower prices and inflation, too?
NEWS: Trump says the Smithsonian is “WOKE” and “OUT OF CONTROL” because they talk about “how bad slavery was,” and says he has instructed his attorneys to stop this at museums in D.C.
Millions of Americans, including servicemembers, seniors, people with disabilities, and Trump himself, vote by mail. This is an illegal attack on Americans’ fundamental right to vote. This isn't about election security- it's disenfranchising voters for your own gain.
Today, from 4 to 6 PM, Team Evans will be at the Nicetown-Tioga Library! Stop by and join us if you need help with federal services and concerns such as passports, immigration, the Postal Service, IRS, Social Security and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
If you need help with a federal agency, this summer Congress comes to you – starting Monday in Roxborough, then Cobbs Creek & South Philly the following week, among 8 total locations! Team Evans is bringing constituent services to communities across #PA03. Check out a pop-up near you below 👇🏾
The effects of Trump's #ReverseRobinHood law are already starting to ripple through Philly. Because of the harsh cuts to SNAP food aid, vital healthy-living programs for low-income students and families will be forced to end this fall. That WON’T “Make America Healthy Again!”
3 years ago, the Inflation Reduction Act, which I proudly voted for, became law. This landmark clean-energy legislation helped create good-paying jobs & lower energy costs. Now as Trump and congressional Republicans rolls back this progress, hard-working Pennsylvanians are facing higher costs.
If the Trump administration rigs inflation & consumer price index reports, seniors will still have to pay higher prices - WITHOUT accurate cost-of-living adjustments to their Social Security benefits. Many will be forced to choose between paying for rent, food, and medicine.
Tweet from Bruce Bartlett: "Seniors should know that the COLA on their Social Security benefits is tied to the CPI. If the CPI is artificially reduced, as Trump wants, your benefits will be reduced."
In case you saw a weird Facebook ad - I want Philadelphians to know that I voted NO on Trump's budget bill. I strongly oppose this new law's massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP- especially since the cuts are funding more tax breaks to the rich.
90 years ago, the Social Security Act was signed into law! Today, while Trump and his Project 2025 administration are trying to gut #SocialSecurity, I'm fighting to protect this earned benefit for millions of Americans, including over 126,000 recipients in PA-03.
Social Security card that says "126, 981 recipients in PA-03 rely on this critical program"
