House Republicans love to roll over for the Senate.
Last year, Senate Republicans rejected a bipartisan House-passed tax package that would have expanded the child tax credit & business tax credits.
And now House Republicans are getting ready to chicken out again. They Always Chicken Out. #TACO

Some Congressional Republicans have been looking for a way to “fix” their disaster-ridden budget.
Here’s a suggestion👇🏾
Trump and Congressional Republicans’ budget would strip health care away from 17 million Americans. That’s enough people to fill Lincoln Financial Field over 251 times!
And to pay for what? Even more tax cuts for a handful of billionaires.
As it comes back to the House, my Democratic colleagues and I will continue fighting back against the GOP’s disastrous budget bill. (2/2)
Let’s be clear what Senate Republicans are applauding:
• Stripping 17 million Americans of their health care
• Forcing hospital and nursing home closures across the country
• Trillions in tax cuts for billionaires
It’s disgusting and immoral. (1/2)
Read more about the role Medicaid plays in their lives here:
Republicans’ budget rips health care away from nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians.
Each one of them is a real person whose life is at stake.
I'm fighting against this reckless budget for Gianna, Ramona, Rowan, Melissa & everyone in PA who rely on Medicaid/Medical Assistance.

When nurses say “Don’t cut Medicaid” - I LISTEN, and Congressional Republicans should too!
I was glad to meet with Pennsylvania nurses from the American Nurses Association to talk about the impact of the GOP’s disastrous budget on their patients, as well as hospitals and nursing homes.
HAPPENING RIGHT NOW: The Senate is voting on Trump’s #BigUglyBill!
This disastrous budget scheme would strip health care away from nearly 500,000 Pennsylvanians and lead to over a dozen nursing home closures across our Commonwealth, including Inglis House right here in Philly!
After some discussions this weekend and thoughtful reflection, I have decided that the time is right to announce that I will not be seeking re-election in 2026. I remain in good health and will serve out the full term that ends Jan. 3, 2027.

poll after poll shows that Trump's big bill is very unpopular

The Senate quietly stripped veterans, people experiencing homelessness, and young people who recently aged out of foster care of their current exemptions from SNAP's harsh work requirement. CBO estimates this change alone would cut 270,000 people off SNAP. thehill.com/opinion/cong...

The most unpopular policy in this deeply unpopular bill, including among Republicans? "Reducing federal funding for food assistance to low-income households."

This bill slashes SNAP by roughly 20%, an unprecedented cut to a program that helps 40+ million low-income people afford groceries. It would take food away from kids, parents, seniors, people with disabilities, veterans & others. The Senate must reject it. www.cbpp.org/research/foo...

CHILDRENS HOSPITAL ASSN ON GOP BUDGET
"a crisis for children's health care, hospitals, and providers"
"your child – regardless of their insurance status – could see the services they rely on reduced or eliminated
"fewer doctors & nurses to see your child, longer wait times, and sicker children"

Right now, no one knows:
-how large the Medicaid cuts are
-how many people will lose health insurance
-how large the tax cuts are
-who wins/loses by how much
-how much it adds to the deficit
Rs are going at lightning speed BECAUSE they want to pass the “big beautiful bill” before anyone knows

The reconciliation bill the US Senate is rushing to pass will hurt Pennsylvanians.
It will rip away health care and SNAP benefits for folks who need them most and threaten rural hospitals and our energy industry.
The bill will damage Pennsylvania and I urge a vote against it.

That ought to do it
Senator Mitch McConnell is simply out of touch. The 16 MILLION Americans who will lose their health care won’t just “get over it.”
That includes over 250,000 Pennsylvanians! I voted NO on the Big Billionaires Bill & I’ll vote NO again if it comes back from the Senate!
