Excited to see such a transformation in Sharswood, a goal I've been working towards since my time in the State House! I was proud to help PHA secure $30 MILLION in federal funding, leveraging over $225 MILLION in investment to revitalize this historic neighborhood.
Well, it's time to prevent a shutdown... again. With only 40 days to prevent a federal government shutdown, Republicans are busy kissing up to their billionaire friends. On the other hand, House Democrats are fighting to protect and expand the programs & services hard-working Americans rely on.
A still from the movie Groundhog Day. A man speaks to the camera, saying, "Well, it's time to prevent a government shutdown again."
Black history IS America's history! From the Underground Railroad to the Civil Rights Movement, Philly has been at the center for the fight of freedom & equality. This #BlackHistoryMonth, let's celebrate and honor this rich legacy through our advocacy and actions.
A building with a colorful mural on its side. The word “Freedom” can be seen with faces and painting of Black Civil rights leaders incorporated into the design. Above is the text: “Celebrating Black History Month in Philly and beyond!”
I’m devastated to hear the news of a small plane crash in Northern Philadelphia.  Thank you to all the emergency personnel responding on the scene. As we learn more about this terrible tragedy, my heart is with the victims, their families, and all of the Philly community.
In 1940, Ida May Fuller was issued the first Social Security check. 85 years later, this system is under attack and in need of repair. Instead of cutting this EARNED benefit, we need to #ScrapTheCap to make billionaires pay their fair share & protect Social Security for future generations to come.
An older woman holds a piece of paper in her hands, her gaze focused on it, conveying a sense of importance and reflection.
Democrats are keeping the pressure on Trump until he revokes ALL of his devastating funding freeze. Unlike the GOP, we are not willing to gamble with Medicaid, WIC, Head Start, veterans' services, and more. Don't be fooled- the Trump White House is still looking for ways to cut critical funding.
While the Trump White House is claiming that SNAP food aid won’t be affected by his unconstitutional funding freeze, he should still immediately reverse that power grab – many vital services for Americans are at stake & he has NOT earned the benefit of the doubt. More information at wapo.st/4gfgcHQ
Trump’s abuse of power now includes blocking food for kids, SNAP, Meals on Wheels, funding for police, firefighters, veterans & more. Congressional Democrats oppose Trump’s radical, unconstitutional power grab – will any Republicans?
