Despite continued attacks and threats by Republicans to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, I will always work to defend our community’s best interests.

Starting this week, people on Medicare will have their out-of-pocket drug costs capped at $2,000/year, and I’m incredibly proud to have voted for this transformation legislation.
I know how high healthcare costs are for our community – especially seniors living on a fixed income. That’s why laws like the Inflation Reduction Act has been so important for El Pasoans 🧵
Congratulations to all the eligible El Pasoans who will finally have access to their earned benefits!

Through my tenure in Congress, I’ve heard from many of you in every corner of our great community who wanted this addressed once and for all. Your tireless advocacy has been important, inspiring and powerful and I’m so proud to have voted for this and helped champion this relief alongside you.
El Paso! I am so excited to share wonderful news with you today. The Social Security Fairness Act has passed Congress and it’s soon to be signed into law by President Biden.
Although the latest version of the funding bill does not include many of the critically needed funding provisions that were in the original bill, a bipartisan agreement was reached.
Republicans have set a dangerous precedent by allowing an unelected billionaire to spread misinformation and hijack weeks of negotiations to fund our government.
I’m proud to have cast a vote to continue funding the government and ensure our 20,000 federal employees in El Paso and the 90,000 soldiers and their families at Fort Bliss are paid for the next three months and ahead of the holidays.
Today's Republican bill to repeal energy efficiency standards is a vote for higher prices and more greenhouse gases.
I'll be voting against the bill, choosing instead to save American families $18 billion on utility bills and reduce carbon emissions by 14 million tons.
This is just one of the many desperately needed reforms the Dignity Act makes to our broken immigration system, and I'll keep working to gather support for my bill.

The Dignity Act creates 5 regional processing centers across Latin America, where migrants can apply for asylum (or other legal pathways created in the Dignity Act) instead of risking their lives to come to our border.
We’ve tried enforcement as a costly deterrent for decades.
We need legal pathways and safe ways for people to apply before making the journey north.
Migrants have died trying to reach our country. Regardless of who is in office, desperate, vulnerable people will make the dangerous trek to the United States to reach the only legal pathway available.
It’s why we need the Dignity Act, my bipartisan bill 🧵

The rules of the Ethics Committee prohibit me from discussing any of my work for the committee - an oath I take very seriously.
They do not, however, prohibit me from agreeing with my Ranking Member, Representative Susan Wild, which I do.
Happy Birthday, POTUS!
