Instances of people impersonating immigration agents increased by at least SIX times the yearly average in 2025. I again renew my calls to pass the VISIBLE Act, that would be a small step toward improving credibility and public safety. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
I’m grateful to all the volunteers, lawyers, humanitarians and Americans who are fighting for a better world for everyone. May our efforts to help immigrants awaken compassion in others and encourage them to join the important work we are all doing.
My work wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the incredible team I am privileged to work with in El Paso and in Washington, D.C. Their dedication and passion to the work we do is equally inspiring.
Our country and our community were shaped by immigrants in search of a better life for themselves and their children. The work Annunciation House and countless other organizations do to fight for human dignity and justice is inspiring and a source of hope. This recognition is so meaningful to me.
I’m deeply honored to receive Annunciation House’s Voice of the Voiceless award. To be recognized by an outstanding organization that does such meaningful work for our community is incredibly humbling.
This Memorial Day, my heart is with the families of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.    We owe it to our fallen to build a nation worthy of their sacrifice and uphold the values they fought for. Today & always, we honor their memory.
500,000 Texans, including thousands of El Pasoans, are going to have a harder time putting food on the table because of Republican cuts to SNAP.   While we fight unnecessary wars and give money to domestic terrorists, more Americans are going hungry. www.texastribune.org/2026/05/20/t...
When those in positions of public trust proudly display their racism and bigotry this way, they give others permission to do the same. Shame on Nancy Mace. This disgusting, hateful targeting of our colleagues is beneath even her.
I've seen gross incompetence and medical negligence during my oversight visits to Camp East Montana. It was once unimaginable to me that such an incapable company was allowed to keep their massive, multimillion dollar contract to treat humans so poorly. www.pogo.org/investigates...
Families are struggling to pay bills, crushed by Trump’s economy. Instead of helping you, Trump is using $1.8 billion in YOUR taxpayer dollars to enrich criminals. This is an outrage. Will ANY Republicans help us stop this?
The Justice Department announced that it was establishing a $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” after President Trump moved to dismiss a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over his leaked tax returns.
I support the Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces in their opposition to the federal government’s actions to degrade a site so significant to our shared identity, and have reached out to my New Mexico colleagues so we can collaborate on ways to save this site.
Mt. Cristo Rey's cultural and religious significance is central to our region. Seizing this community asset in order to build a border wall is consistent with the Trump administration’s blatant disregard for what communities like ours value.
