🇺🇸 This year is the 250th anniversary of our great nation – that’s 250 years that We the People have had a say in this radical experiment of self-governance. That's why I want to hear how you are continuing to be part of this great democratic experiment.

One of my favorite parts of the job is hearing directly from our youngest constituents on their creative bill ideas and answering their thoughtful questions!
I made it back from a long week in DC on Friday in time to speak to my niece Orla’s fifth-grade class at Germantown Elementary School for Career Day! We covered all aspects of my job as their Congresswoman, from how I vote on the Floor to legislation I’m working on to protect the Bay & much more.
To date, #TeamElfreth has closed over 2,000 constituent cases and returned over $2.5 million directly to constituents, so whatever issue you’re experiencing, you can always reach out to a member of our team at (410) 832 -8890 or check out the link below for more information on casework assistance.
My team and I are here for you on your hardest days. Every day, we help neighbors who need help with federal agencies like Carolyn.
So if you’re interested in serving our country and still have questions, make sure you RSVP at the link below for our Anne Arundel County Forum that is around the corner on Thursday, May 21st, at 6:00 PM. I hope to see you there!

🪖Our second Service Academy Nomination Forum is less than one week away! Dozens of high school students came out to our Howard County Forum, eager to learn more about the nominations process.
In Congress, I will continue to show up for those who serve with the same commitment that they have shown to all of us.
Today is Armed Forces Day, a time to honor all those who have answered the call to serve our country. As the daughter and granddaughter of Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans, I know the sacrifice our men and women in uniform – and their families – make each and every day.
We’ll be joined by state, local, business, and non-profit partners ready to answer your questions about how our offices can support you. If you’re interested, you can RSVP and find more information at the link below:

As your member of Congress, my job is not just to be your voice in Washington – it’s also about being on the ground, helping our neighbors on their hardest days. That’s why my team and I will be hosting our first #MD03 Constituent Resources Fair on Thursday, May 28, at 5:30 PM in Howard County.
We discussed their evolving role in regional security operations, the importance of securing our waterways for trade and national security, opportunities for us to collaborate on maritime operations, and more.
Supporting our NATO allies and advancing our shared security goals means coordinating with our allies every step of the way. This week, I sat down with the Deputy Chief Minister of Gibraltar – which is one of the most strategically important territories for the U.S. and our NATO allies.
Their bravery is just one example of how our first responders show up for our neighbors on their hardest days – even when that means putting their own safety on the line. Thank you again to these officers and to all the dedicated first responders whose unwavering service keeps our communities safe.
On June 11, 2023, Annapolis experienced a heartbreaking mass shooting that took the lives of 3 neighbors and injured 3 others. Amid the shock and horror, these officers worked to swiftly stabilize the scene and provide life-saving aid to the gunshot victims.
In honor of Police Week, I took a moment on the House Floor to recognize 20 incredible members of the Annapolis Police Department who received the Life Saving Award and the Meritorious Service Award for their heroism and outstanding service.
Simply put, this war is unconstitutional, unnecessary, and unpopular. As families back home struggle to keep up with inflation and this President provides no justification or strategy on the path forward, we must have some accountability.
The Constitution is clear: only Congress has the power to declare war, and it is beyond time we reassert our authority by passing a War Powers Resolution.
Once again, I voted to end hostilities in Iran. We are now 75 days into this war. 14 servicemembers have lost their lives. And we are spending $29 billion – all while Congress has been silent.
I’m so grateful I could join their cause and donate a few items ahead of a busy week in Washington. It’s their dedication that gives me hope and reminds us that the way we get through these difficult days is through more participation – not less.
