As the Supreme Court systematically dismantles this crucial act and as President Trump continues to sow distrust in our elections, it’s now even more important to stand up for our fundamental voting rights.

This act is widely considered the single most important piece of legislation protecting the right to vote and upholding the very values that this great experiment of self-governance was founded on 250 years ago.
61 years ago today, President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law, prohibiting discrimination in voting practices on the basis of race.
These draconian cuts have had real consequences in Third District— from cancelling funding for researchers and businesses leading the way in energy efficiency to weakening the electric grid that all of us rely on.
Call me crazy, but I don’t want a Democratic president exercising political retribution against Republican-leaning states. The presidency is greater than your political party. It’s shameful the Trump Administration cares more about exacting political retribution than lowering your energy costs.
Whether it's in Congress championing legislation to improve training opportunities for our first responders or on the ground with our neighbors, I’m proud to support our first responders and their work in the line of duty.
Annapolis’s National Night Out celebration did not disappoint! After recognizing our Howard County first responders, my mom and I made our way to the Busch Library for one of Annapolis’s many National Night Out Celebrations to recognize the vital partnership between first responders & our community.
Tomorrow #TeamElfreth is hosting our Know Your Rights Virtual Seminar! If you’re interested in learning about all the rights and resources available to our neighbors, be sure to RSVP at the link below to join us TOMORROW, August 6th at 6:00 PM.
Yesterday, I kicked off my National Night Out celebrations with Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and our neighbors in Columbia to recognize the selfless work of all of our first responders. Their incredible work and selfless sacrifices make our communities safer and stronger every day.
For our first responders, serving our neighbors in need is not just a job – it’s a life that comes with sacrifice, late nights, overtime, and putting oneself in harm’s way for the safety of our neighbors.

My team and I are here for you on your hardest days. That’s why at the start of this August District Work period, we sat down in our Columbia Office to discuss and brainstorm solutions to local issues, casework questions, and more ways we can show up for our #MD03 neighbors.
President Trump trusts our adversaries more than he trusts his own advisors. This clear lack of judgement and strategy is only putting more Americans in harm’s way.
Language translation is available, but requests for specific languages close at the end of day today.
As always, if my office can be of assistance, you can always speak to a member of my team at (410) 832-8890.”

Last week, #TeamElfreth welcomed four incredible high schoolers to our offices to learn more about our work in Congress, the casework process, and the daily operations of our teams. Thanks for stopping by!
One perk of being so close to the District is being able to invite constituents – including our youngest constituents – to both our Washington and Columbia offices!
