I loved my time speaking with this incredible group of smart, passionate women who will undoubtedly be the ones building our clean energy future. Special thanks to Marylander Abby Hopper for inviting me to close their 2025 speaker series!

Despite being one of the fastest-growing industries, there is still a significant gender gap in the solar energy industry. SEIA’s Solar Sisters initiative has been leading the effort to close these gaps and build community for women across the clean energy sector.
One of the highlights of my job is hearing directly from you – and so many of you made your voices heard. This year, my team and I answered more than 11,854 phone calls! Each call helps inform my work in Washington, so please keep leaning in and engaging. I couldn’t do it without you!
As the only Marylander in the House or the Senate serving on a committee focused on national security, I am committed to building upon their distinguished legacy and continuing to deliver wins on behalf of our servicemembers and our state – even in the face of DOGE and the current Administration.
I also learned something true of most things in our state: these federal investments don’t happen by accident; they happen thanks to the incredible work of #TeamMaryland, including the great Senators Barbara Mikulski & Ben Cardin, Congressman Ruppersberger, & my predecessor, Congressman Sarbanes.
On this year-long tour, I had the privilege of seeing first-hand the exquisite and unique capabilities Maryland installations, servicemembers, and civilian DoD employees provide to our collective national security.
In my first year in Congress and on the House Armed Services Committee, I set out to visit every major military installation in Maryland.
On the first day of Kwanzaa, I want to wish all those who celebrate in #MD03 a very happy holiday season filled with community and joy. These next days are a true celebration of unity, culture, faith, and purpose. Happy Kwanzaa!
Whether heading a Building and Loan to keep roofs over heads or simply lending a hand to a neighbor in need, we can all do our part and be there for one another.
It's a movie – nearly 80 years later – that still makes us stop and reflect on what it truly means to be a member of a community. In the words of Peter Bailey, “All you can take with you is that which you’ve given away.”
Merry Christmas #MD03! 🎄 I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday surrounded by loved ones and taking a well-deserved breather after a busy and challenging year. For those who don’t know, my annual Christmas tradition is making some hot cocoa and watching It's a Wonderful Life.
Meeting with you is truly the best part of the job, and I hope to see you in the District or in Washington in the new year!
Over the past 12 months, the highlight of my work has been hearing from you – whether that’s at a town hall or at one of our many community events 🗓️ This year, I criss-crossed #MD03 and attended a total of 243 events, meetings, and site visits – including hosting 21 town halls.
It’s our first year in the running, so for today’s edition of Thrifted and Gifted from Third, here’s a look at our holiday declarations that bring a little piece of #MD03 to Washington.
As this chaotic and challenging year comes to an end, our office had some lighthearted fun ringing in the holiday season by participating in the annual Longworth House Office Building second-floor door decorating contest!
Carderock is also home to the largest wave pool in the world, the Navy’s collection of model ships, and some very cool applied research around 3D printing to support sailors around the world.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Carderock has led the Navy’s maritime technology for over a century and employs nearly 2,000 civilian scientists, engineers, and support personnel.
At each installation, I have the opportunity to see cutting-edge technology, speak directly with our servicemembers, and experience first-hand the unique assets and capabilities these Maryland installations provide to our national security – Carderock was no exception.
Did you know that the design for every U.S. Navy warship since 1940 has been tested here in Maryland?
The final stop in my tour of every major military installation in the Free State: the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock!
ICYMI: I just released my 2025 Year In Review. While this has been a challenging year for so many in our community and our country, I remain grateful for the trust you have placed in me as your representative in Congress. Here’s just a small glimpse into what we were able to accomplish together ⬇️
