Survivors of sexual harassment and assault deserve fair treatment under the law. It's unacceptable that a woman who has been raped, who endured immense pain and trauma, or had to quit her job to escape harassment may face tax burdens on the compensation she rightfully deserves.
While the order to lift Trump’s USAID funding freeze is a temporary win, our fight is far from over. Foreign assistance isn’t a handout—it’s a critical tool that helps prevent conflict, strengthen our alliances, and drive economic stability—all of which keep America safe.
Seven years ago today, 17 sons, daughters, and loved ones were killed in a horrific, senseless act of gun violence at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High.   On this somber anniversary, we remember each of them, stand with their families, and renew our fight to protect our communities from gun violence.
USAID’s Inspector General was fired yesterday after exposing that hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of food sourced from American farmers—aimed at feeding the most vulnerable communities worldwide—is rotting at ports and in transit because of confusion and a depleted foreign aid workforce.
The Global Gag Rule is a cruel attack on women’s health; it blocks U.S. global health funding to international organizations that use their own money to provide abortion services or even simply share reproductive health care information with their patients.
During my first Labor, HHS, and Education hearing this Congress, I highlighted how critical federal support helps community colleges create opportunities for students, strengthen our workforce, and build stronger communities.
Donald Trump and House Republicans have turned over the keys to the government’s most private information to a billionaire donor. I joined my Democratic colleagues to introduce a bill that would put strong safeguards in place to stop outside access to Americans’ most sensitive data.
My team and I have been getting calls from many of you about the new Trump Administration’s actions. Join my telephone town hall on Monday at 5:30 PM—I want to hear your concerns and answer your questions. Hope you’ll join us.
We must fight for an America that leads, not one that turns its back on the world. Yesterday, I joined hundreds of public servants and community leaders to oppose the reckless, short-sighted, and dangerous effort to dismantle USAID—one of our most critical tools of foreign policy.
I’m hearing from many of you who are deeply concerned about the reckless, dangerous policies of this new Administration. Join me on Monday for a telephone town hall to share your thoughts and hear how House Democrats and I are pushing back.
Quality education is how we build a prosperous future. Attempting to shut down the Department of Education is a reckless attack that would gut critical funding, weaken federal protections for vulnerable students, and abandon our commitment to ensuring every child has a fair shot at success.
As we welcome the Lunar New Year, we honor the vibrant traditions and contributions of our Asian-American communities. Wishing our friends in Palm Beach County and across the country celebrating this special occasion a joyful, healthy, and prosperous Year of the Snake.
Lilly Ledbetter’s fight for women’s rights in the workplace was a fight for all women. As we mark the first anniversary of the bill that bears her name without her, we honor her tremendous legacy and reaffirm our commitment to equal pay and economic security for all women.
