The Trump administration is sending all pregnant unaccompanied minors apprehended by immigration enforcement to a single group shelter in South Texas. This is a sharp turn from longstanding federal practice, which placed them in shelters or foster homes equipped to handle high-risk pregnancies.
We're seeing the impact—in real time—of what Congressional Republicans' cuts to Medicaid and failure to extend ACA tax credits are doing to the whole health care ecosystem. It's not good.

Good to chat with Barbara Schwarz about my bill to freeze hiring at ICE until there is accountability, transparency, and procedural reform to ensure the safety of the American people.

At the urging of my office, the FAA is rightfully lifting the Temporary Restricted Airspace.
I will again reiterate there is no threat to El Paso or the surrounding areas.
I joined Tri-Caucus Chairs @repespaillat.bsky.social, @meng.house.gov, and @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social to condemn these actions, restore the rule of law, and ensure no federal agency is beyond accountability. 2/2
Under Secretary Noem, immigration and enforcement operations have resulted in constitutional violations, civilian deaths, and obstruction of justice. 1/2

Accounts from detained families, their lawyers and court filings describe one federal detention center in Texas as a place where hundreds of children languish as they’re served contaminated food, receive little education and struggle to obtain basic medical care.
My statement on President Trump's racist social media post.
I co-sponsored @repscottpeters.bsky.social's Stop Excessive Force in Immigration Act to place strict limits on immigration agents' use of force and reinforce protections for people exercising their First Amendment rights.
I joined @repyassansari.bsky.social and my House Democratic colleagues in responding to the Trump administration's latest attack on the freedom of the press. Attorney General Bondi should be focused on protecting our Constitutional rights, not weaponizing them.
Americans are being killed, detained, harassed, and silenced by their own government.
We see it happening right now—Congress needs to do something about it now.

More than a year in, Trump’s Day One promise to lower costs is still just a campaign promise.
During his first year, people spent over $1,600 more across the country.

Glad to stand beside my friend and neighbor and now Congressman Christian Menefee as he took his oath of office this week. We are glad to have a new champion for #TX18, Texans, and all Americans in our Texas Delegation and in our House Democratic Caucus.

Heartbreaking. Renee Good's family is right. What happened to her was violent, unnecessary, and it must lead to change. The majority of people in this country do not support armed federal agents acting like they are above the law. Enough is enough.
🧵Today, I introduced the Freeze ICE Act. As Americans across the country express deep concerns that ICE agents are violating the Constitution and causing hardship, a hiring freeze is needed until there is accountability and transparency to ensure the safety of the American people. (1/2)
Thanks to James for calling in to Houston Matters to discuss the enormity of the issues we are facing. We must remember:
The Constitution protects our rights as Americans.
And it's time for Americans to protect the Constitution.
I have joined @ayannapressley.bsky.social in the effort to extend TPS for Haitians for three years, signing her petition to bring a vote on that extension to the House floor, and I will continue fighting to help our Haitian neighbors. (3/3)
