As a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I want to wish everyone in North Carolina and across the country a happy #PrideMonth!

Reps. Deborah Ross (D-NC 2), Valerie Foushee (D-NC 4), Salud Carbajal (D-CA 24), Jimmy Panetta (D-CA 19), and Bobby Scott (D-VA 3) are all apparently straight up calling this bribery. Could get interesting

After hearing from many concerned constituents regarding the ICE office in Cary, @ross.house.gov and I conducted an unannounced visit to the facility.
Here’s what we learned:
Across the South, lawmakers are moving to redraw congressional maps in ways that weaken Black voting strength and representation.
I joined the Congressional Black Caucus in calling on every institution that values democracy to speak out.
I’m proud to cosponsor the STOP Corrupt Bets Act.
Americans should never have to wonder whether powerful insiders are profiting off bets tied to elections, government actions, or national security decisions.
Public service is about serving the public interest—not cashing in on corruption.
It was a pleasure to visit the Red Wolf Center alongside Rep. Don Davis & learn more about its important work to protect this endangered native species.
In Congress, I’m proud to lead bipartisan legislation that will strengthen & support red wolf repopulation efforts in NC & across the country.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As your voice in Congress, I will always fight for more affordable and accessible mental health care.
Remember, you are never alone. If you or a loved one is struggling, you can always call or text 988 to get the support you need.

$1,800,000,000 for Trump’s violent criminal slush fund.
$0 for healthcare or to lower Americans’ costs.
You deserve better.
Voting rights are foundational to our democracy, and they are under serious threat.
I spoke with Leoneda Inge of WUNC’s “Due South” about the impacts of the recent Supreme Court decision gutting key protections of the Voting Rights Act and what it means for North Carolina and the South.
The conditions reported at Delaney Hall are inhumane and unacceptable.
Many of the people detained there have no criminal record and are being held in circumstances no one should endure.
Congress must continue oversight, and ICE must be held accountable. Delaney Hall needs to be shut down now.
Green card applicants in the U.S. are skilled workers, students, & spouses of American citizens.
Trump’s new policy would force many to leave the country while their cases are still pending, separating families & hurting communities.
We should protect legal immigration pathways, not destroy them.

It should anger every single American that our government is spending our taxpayer dollars to support Israel’s strikes on civilians in Lebanon, a war with Iran that has claimed the lives of thousands, and the continued indiscriminate killing of Palestinians.
I was proud to work closely with the Authors Guild when introducing the Protecting Consumers from Deceptive AI Act to mandate watermarks on generative AI—and I look forward to continuing working together to protect Americans from the harms of AI.
It was great meeting with the @authorsguild.org to discuss how Congress can take further steps to protect creative works as the rise of AI continues.
I had the pleasure of talking to @wchlchapelboro.bsky.social about my push to pass the GUARD Act to prevent these companion chatbots from taking the lives of even more children across the country.
AI chatbots are putting the lives of children across the country at risk right now.
Congress must establish criminal penalties immediately for companies that allow children to access harmful content through these chatbots.
Expanding access to childcare remains one of my priorities in Congress, and I’m glad to have local organizations like NCLCCA with me in that fight.
I had the pleasure of meeting with NC Licensed Child Care Association President Dan Rockway to discuss the importance of keeping our federal childcare programs properly funded in the face of this Administration’s cuts to public services.
Republicans would rather send all 400+ Members of the House back to their districts than show any sort of spine while Donald Trump uses our taxpayer dollars to kill innocent civilians abroad.
