Shanah Tovah and Happy Rosh Hashanah to all who are celebrating! May this new year bring you and your family peace, happiness, and good health.
This week, I joined the NC Delegation in meeting with Governor Stein to discuss the federal resources needed to support Western North Carolina as it continues to rebuild from Hurricane Helene.
Recovery can’t wait—we must deliver federal aid to families and communities in need without delay.
For over a century, the Department of Labor's Women’s Bureau has safeguarded the welfare of women in the workforce. Yet, the Trump Admin has cut the agency to shreds.
@demwomencaucus.bsky.social & I call on the Trump Admin to invest in women. Our economy, our families, & our futures depend on it.
As RM of the Space & Aeronautics Subcommittee, I met with Janet Petro to discuss the path forward for Artemis II, emphasizing the need for astronaut safety.
We also discussed my concerns over the proposed FY26 cuts to NASA Science & the need to fully fund NASA to ensure U.S. leadership in space.
I voted against the Republicans’ partisan CR because it fails to support working families across North Carolina who are struggling with rising everyday costs.
Our budget should be a reflection of our values, and Congress should focus on investing in the American people.
Read my full statement:
House Democrats are united and oppose the GOP’s proposed partisan CR that ignores the needs of the American people.
We are willing to negotiate on a budget that reflects our values, addresses rising costs, and protects access to affordable healthcare.
It was great meeting with Duke researchers working on the NASA Roman Space Telescope as it nears completion & launch.
As Ranking Member of the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee, I’m proud of the vital role our local researchers play in advancing space discovery & shaping the future of exploration.
Today, I met with medical researchers from #NC04 to discuss the urgent need for strong NIH funding in FY26.
Any delays or cuts to funding risk stalling lifesaving research & threaten our public health. Congress must act in a timely manner to avoid disruption & keep critical research moving forward.
Join me next Monday, September 22 at 6:30PM for my telephone town hall!
Tune in to hear me & @graigmeyer.bsky.social discuss important issues that matter most to the residents of the Fourth District.

It's been two months since I contacted BOP Director Marshall about the deplorable conditions at FCC Butner, and I've yet to receive a response.
I met with AFGE Local 408, which represents FCC Butner workers, to hear more directly from them about the current state of the complex👇🏾
Happy National App Challenge Day! I'm always proud to support our young coders who continue to fuel innovation across #NC04 and the nation.
Remember, submissions for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge are open until October 30! For more information, visit: foushee.house.gov/congressiona...
It was great meeting with NASA’s Expedition 72 Crew who recently returned home from the ISS!
As Ranking Member of the Space & Aeronautics Subcommittee, I’ll keep fighting to ensure NASA has the funding needed to push the boundaries of scientific research and space exploration.
I was proud to meet with @nihfellowsunited.bsky.social who are fighting for our local NIH workers that continue to be demonized by this administration.
The NIH keeps our country healthy and at the forefront of scientific research—turning our backs on science is turning our backs on our future.
Today is National Voter Registration Day! Our democracy only works if everyone participates. Find more information on registering to vote at Vote.gov.
These production delays have serious implications for USPS's operations and our efforts to lead the transition towards cleaner transportation.
Today, I wrote to Oshkosh Defense demanding updates regarding this contract and a realistic timeline for completion.
USPS workers are being forced to use broken vehicles, often without air conditioning, because of Oshkosh Defense's production delays.
They received $3 billion in taxpayer funds for this contract, but had only delivered 93 trucks by November compared to the 3,000 expected.
It was a pleasure to tour Lowes in Durham to discuss their role as a major regional employer and recent investments in local housing efforts.
Our region is feeling the strain of Trump's tariffs, and I'll keep exploring all routes to ensure that businesses in NC remain properly supported.
I had the opportunity to meet with NCCU Chancellor Dr. Karrie G. Dixon to discuss recent threats of violence against HBCUs nationwide and how Congress can better support our Minority-serving Institutions.
NCCU is a core part of our #NC04 community, and I'll always fight for its continued success.
Today marks 24 years since the horrific September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks which forever changed American history.
We will continue to stand in remembrance of the innocent lives lost and honor the endless heroism of the first responders who answered the call to danger.
From the shootings at our schools and places of worship to the recent politically-motivated killings of Charlie Kirk and lawmakers in Minnesota, it's clear that these dark days cannot continue.
The American people deserve better. Our country needs to take steps NOW to stop this. (3/3)
