As a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I'm celebrating 56 years since #Stonewall. As Our LGBTQI+ neighbors, friends, and family members are facing increasing hostility from our federal government, we must never forget the spirit of Stonewall and continue fighting for full equality.
I unequivocally condemn these statements & stand with our Muslim American community in the face of these dehumanizing attacks. We cannot stay silent as attempts to normalize anti-Muslim hate continue and we must take tangible steps to root out hate & Islamophobia in all forms across our communities.
The Islamophobic smears coming from members of Congress towards @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social cannot continue. Hate, bigotry, and Islamophobia have no place in our society, and this speech contributes to the growth of political violence we've seen across the nation.
This is an attack on our constitution and communities. This ruling will empower Trump to illegally ban birthright citizenship while limiting our courts' ability to respond. The 14th amendment is clear that those born in the U.S. are citizens, and I will explore all routes to combat this ruling.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court limited judges' power on nationwide injunctions, leaving the fate of Trump's birthright citizenship order unclear.
SCOTUS ruling to allows states to disqualify Planned Parenthood from Medicaid programs is an attack on women's care and our freedom of choice. Alongside the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, I will fight this ruling which will strip 1M patients of the essential care that Planned Parenthood provides.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows states to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.
During @demwomencaucus.bsky.social Dobbs Anniversary hearing, I shed a light on how the NCGA's 12-week abortion ban is leaving thousands in NC without the care they need. Our LGBTQ+ community has particularly been affected and it's important that providers help rebuild trust with these patients.
As temperatures continue to rise, leveraging DOE & NOAA research in critical technologies is imperative to predicting & responding to extreme weather events. I'm introducing the Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act with Rep. Miller to facilitate collaboration & expand our capabilities.
It was great meeting with the NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and NCCASA to discuss the importance of funding rape crisis centers & DV service providers. NC has reached record rates of domestic violence & Congress must support these efforts to eliminate sexual assault from our communities.
The GOP's FY26 MilCon VA funding bill will shortchange American heroes to fund kickbacks for Trump's billionaire buddies. Privatizing VA care and underfunding military infrastructure to funnel billions to corporate hospitals doesn’t support our veterans—it breaks our promise to those who served.
I reintroduced my resolution designating June as Brain and Spine Metastasis Awareness Month. Metastatic cancer remains the leading cause of mortality in patients with cancer, and Congress needs to improve access to lifesaving care. Read More: foushee.house.gov/posts/rep-fo...
Three years ago, Roe v. Wade was overturned, stripping away reproductive rights & leaving millions without access to fundamental health care. Today, I’m proud to join House Democrats in reintroducing the Women's Health Protection Act to ensure everyone has access to the reproductive care they need.
Trump's illegal strikes in Iran drag us closer to yet another endless war in the Middle East that will put innocent lives at risk. I’m cosponsoring Rep. Massie and @khanna.house.gov's War Powers Resolution to prohibit unauthorized attacks and reassert that only Congress can order military action.
Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom and independence, and a time to reflect on our nation's history. We've come a long way, but the fight for justice is far from over. Together, we must continue working towards a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
