Democrat or Republican. We hike the same trails. Fish the same waters.
They’re trying to sell off an almost unthinkable amount of OUR land and I’ll be fighting this provision tooth and nail.

That’s what makes this new Senate Republican push to sell off 250 million acres of public lands so outrageous.
It’s not just bad policy — it’s a betrayal of something Americans have always united around: our shared love of the outdoors.
🧵I had Republican partners when I worked on wild and scenic rivers and wetlands protections in the California Assembly. We didn’t always agree — but we stood together to protect the land we all love.
That’s why I’m proud to cosponsor the Closing the Bump Stock Loophole Act, a commonsense bill that prohibits the sale of bump stocks and devices that enable semi-automatic firearms to mimic the effect of fully automatic weapons.
As the Trump administration continues to roll-back gun safety measures, I remain committed to protecting our community from gun violence.
This is the opposite of the Louisiana Purchase — it gives away land roughly the size of Texas, New York, and California combined for pennies on the dollar.
America’s public lands are just that — America’s. Instead, Republicans want to sell off 250 million acres to pay for billionaire tax breaks.

We are thrilled that thousands of visitors will see the work of this talented young artist.
It was an honor to have Mela Gainer, the 1st place winner of my inaugural Congressional Art Competition, and her family in D.C. Her thought-provoking piece titled “Out of Water” is now displayed in the Capitol tunnel representing CA-30.
Our small American businesses need the brightest minds working for them, and our graduates need a way to jumpstart their careers.
That’s why I was proud to vote YES on H.R. 1642 – Connecting Small Businesses with Career and Technical Education Graduates Act of 2025.
This has nothing to do with the budget. It’s a power grab — plain and simple. If you can’t afford to post a bond, you lose your right to stop the government in court, even when it’s breaking the law.
Their plan? Force you to pay a massive bond before a court can stop illegal government actions. It’s outrageous — and I’m leading 21 House Members demanding they drop this provision now.
House Republicans are trying to erase your right to hold the government accountable — and they’re sneaking it into the reconciliation bill.
This provision has nothing to do with the budget and everything to do with silencing credible legal challenges to Trump’s rampage on our rule of law. I will continue to lead efforts to make sure this dangerous provision never becomes law.
I rallied my @HouseDemocrat colleagues against the danger that was Section 70302, and the Senate just made that provision exponentially worse.
Not only is Juneteenth a day to honor the memory of those 250,000 individuals, but it is also a moment to commemorate the ending of slavery and recommit to fighting for equality for all.
On this day in 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to spread the news to more than 250,000 enslaved Black people that they had been emancipated.
My field office had the pleasure of attending the Hollywood United Neighborhood Council meeting to give federal updates, hear from neighborhood leaders and answer questions about their most pressing concerns.
Always grateful for the thoughtful conversation and partnership.
Really appreciated the chance to sit down with the Hollywood Chamber and local business and community leaders. We talked about my work to pass a national film tax credit, efforts to make housing more affordable, tourism, and how to keep Hollywood’s economy strong and growing.
