Joined the Los Feliz community for a community discussion last night — we covered a lot: Marines in LA, toxic soil, wildfire recovery, and the fight to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Big thanks to the Los Feliz Improvement Association for bringing the community together.

I'm fighting back against Trump's attacks on the LGBTQ community. Check out the latest from @abc7.bsky.social on my Youtube channel⬇️

The CA bear has woken up, ready to defend our Constitution.

Whether you’re a dad, stepdad, granddad, or father figure – today is about you and your countless contributions. Happy Father’s Day!
When they come for our neighbors, for our healthcare, or for VA services, we say: HELL NO! #NoKingsDay

THIS is what democracy looks like!
At the first stop of the day, spoke to thousands at the #NoKingsDay protest in West Hollywood.
Political violence has no place in our democracy.
Absolutely devastating news out of Minnesota, where State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were murdered in a targeted attack. I’m praying for their family and loved ones, and holding Senator Hoffman and his wife in my thoughts as they fight to recover.
We should never use a person’s need to go to the doctor against them. This will only lead to more chaos and pain in our communities.
Donald Trump just gave deportation agents access to Medicaid data — even after Medicaid officials warned it was legally and ethically wrong. This is the personal health info of people in California.
I’ll continue to be in touch with state and local officials to ensure they have the resources they need to stop violence and protect those peacefully protesting.
Encouraging news. Just days after Trump’s takeover, a federal judge has ruled the seizure of California’s National Guard illegal.
The ruling is stayed until tomorrow, but the message is clear: our Constitution still matters.
This terrorist attacked, killed, and injured members of the LGBTQ community and tore apart an entire community - in the middle of Pride month. May we remember the lives lost and honor their memories by combatting hate and gun violence at every turn.
9 years ago today, one of the deadliest mass shootings in modern history took place at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
Senator Padilla was detained today for the crime of asking a question about what's happening in our state, as he was elected to do.
It's clear this administration has no boundaries — and no tolerance for dissent. Californians won't be intimidated, and we won't back down.
This provision is a disgusting attempt to undermine the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans by legalizing discrimination.
This policy underhandedly defies the values of the vast majority of Americans, who support marriage equality.
There is no cause for Trump to commandeer the California National Guard and send them into Los Angeles against the wishes of the LA community. Local and state police are more than capable of handling the situation.

That’s why I co-sponsored a resolution supporting California’s public higher education systems. We need to invest in, and protect our institutions of higher education, not make them political pawns.
Our UCs are no Trump University – they actually deliver a world class education to students, enabling them to succeed.
