Wilcox fought for fair treatment & safe conditions for workers. Harris protected whistleblowers & kept the federal workforce accountable.     Trump removed them without cause—violating the law and weakening the agencies that protect everyday Americans.
I joined more than 200 House Democrats in standing up to the illegal executive overreach and dismantling of USAID. USAID protected American lives at home by investing in global health & emergency response abroad. Without it, we open ourselves to more risk.
I joined 200+ House Democrats challenging South Carolina’s attempt to block Americans from choosing their own reproductive healthcare provider through Medicaid.     Reproductive freedom means being able to choose your own doctor without government meddling.
In February, I joined more than 200 House Democrats to block the Trump Administration’s illegal efforts to undermine & ultimately eliminate the CFPB, an agency which has returned BILLIONS of $$$s to American consumers. Weakening it means more scams, more fraud, & fewer protections.
🧵President Trump’s illegal actions won’t go unchecked. Alongside House Democrats, I’m committed to fighting every overreach.     Here are some of the amicus briefs I’ve joined so far:
Trump keeps telling us he won’t cut Social Security. But with long telephone hold times, more frequent website crashes, & fewer staff to help our seniors, he might as well call his plan what it is: a painful and unnecessary slashing of services. 🧵
Over half of all women and almost 1 in 3 men have experienced sexual violence or assault in their lifetime. This April, we honor and uplift victims of sexual assault in our community.
More than 1 million Americans live with Parkinson’s, & by 2030 that number is expected to grow to 1.3 million. Instead of working toward a cure, the Trump admin is firing the scientists leading breakthrough research. We need more investment in NIH, not less. Americans deserve cures, not suffering.
Bringing insulin costs down and investigating price-gouging of this life-saving medication should be a no-brainer bipartisan effort. But Trump doesn’t think so. He’s letting greedy companies line their pockets at the expense of ailing Americans.
The FTC has halted its lawsuit accusing OptumRX, CVS, and Express Scripts of breaking the law by inflating insulin prices. Trump illegally fired the two Democratic members of the commission, and now these corporations are going to get away with price gauging insulin.
A massive thank you to all the organizations that showed up today, including @sagaftra.org, @iatse.bsky.social, @teamsters.bsky.social, @wgawest.bsky.social, and Directors Guild of America.
After the wildfires, our communities don’t need promises — they need jobs. Today, I led 10 Members of Congress in calling on the film industry to bring production back to LA.
