Illegally firing Inspectors General sets the table for MORE waste, fraud, and abuse. Once a criminal, always a criminal.
The Trump Administration is relying on centuries-old discrimination of Native Americans to upend the Constitution and end birthright citizenship. Sick stuff. newrepublic.com/post/190662/...
I voted NO on Pete Hegseth.
These are projects designed to fix our roads, deliver safe drinking water, grow our local economies, and create high-quality jobs New Mexicans can build families around. Withholding funding only hurts our communities and working families and does nothing to lower costs.
$5.5 million to clean up orphaned oil and gas wells—a health and safety hazard across New Mexico. Trump is now withholding that funding.
$6.4 million for wildlife crossings in Santa Ana Pueblo, a project that would save lives by reducing vehicle-wildlife collisions in New Mexico. Trump is now withholding that funding.
$172 million for road and rail safety, including major infrastructure to improve road safety in Gallup and McKinley County and improved public transit for the Mescalero Apache Tribe and the Pueblo of Taos. Trump is now withholding that funding.
$9.3 million that was designated for the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water Project and $5 million for the Jicarilla-Apache Rural Water System that would ensure these communities have access to safe drinking water. Trump is now withholding that funding.
Last week, we announced a $7 million investment in projects aimed at reducing the risk of catastrophic wildfires and boosting New Mexico’s long-term water security. Trump is now withholding that funding.
Among President Trump’s avalanche of Executive Orders is one that halts all funding from our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
What does that mean for New Mexico? 🧵
Today, on the anniversary of Roe, Republicans brought forward legislation to criminalize medical providers and allow politicians to control women's health care decisions.
I trust New Mexican women and their doctors—not President Trump or any politician—to make these decisions.
Proud of New Mexico’s Attorney General for upholding the constitution. www.santafenewmexican.com/news/local_n...
Three things you need to know about Donald Trump’s Executive Order on wind power generation:
I interact with the Capitol Police on a daily basis and I want to express how much I appreciate their service. Pardoning criminals who assaulted police officers on January 6 will make our country less safe and sends a terrible message of disrespect to police officers everywhere.
This wind order will raise the cost of energy, kill thousands of skilled trades jobs, and threaten billions of dollars of planned investments in rural communities. Trump is wasting no time tilting at windmills, but American families will shoulder the burden of his extreme agenda.
President Trump's Executive Orders are wrong-headed, incendiary, and divisive. My statement:
Proud to welcome nearly $7 million in Infrastructure Law funding to invest in water-smart solutions to help producers, support rural economies, & invest in the work needed to bolster our watersheds & reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires.
Building wildlife crossings saves lives and reduces the risk of dangerous vehicle collisions. That’s why I worked to establish the Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program in the Infrastructure Law. I'm happy to see this funding delivered to Santa Ana Pueblo. www.abqjournal.com/news/article...
Proud to welcome $231M for Kit Carson Electric Cooperative’s green hydrogen project, helping secure NM's future as a leader in advanced energy solutions by:
⚡ Powering nearly 25K homes
🌎 Reducing climate pollution by 98K tons
💰 Generating approx. $298M in economic output
