In a world defined by differences, the Caja del Rio is our common ground. We want our children to experience the Caja as a living landscape of our history, culture, and religion. Which is why @fernandez.house.gov and I are introducing the Caja del Rio Protection Act.

Ted Turner was a media visionary and a dedicated conservationist. From fighting to “save everything” to bringing bison back to the West, he was the real-life Captain Planet. I will miss his leadership, and my thoughts are with his family and friends.
Most of us can probably name a special teacher who made a huge difference in our lives. For me, that teacher was Mrs. Taylor. She put me on the path of scientific exploration that ultimately led to me studying engineering. Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to all our educators. 🍎
Native women and girls experience appalling levels of violence. I cosponsored a resolution declaring today National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and I will keep working to help deliver justice for them & their families.
Thank you to the Albuquerque Bar Association for inviting me to celebrate Law Day. I had a great discussion with UNM School of Law professors, Sonia Gibson Rankin and Josh Kastenberg, about democracy and how we must actively fight to defend the rule of law.

Working families are under so much economic pressure, and we need to be offering solutions that hold down the prices of electricity. Instead, this administration is spending taxpayer dollars blocking new energy projects that would lower costs for Americans.
AP: Democrats investigate as Trump OKs almost $2 billion in taxpayer money to end offshore wind projects
This Denim Day, my team wore denim to stand with survivors and against the harmful myths and attitudes that surround sexual violence. We're fighting every day to make sure survivors and the organizations in New Mexico that serve them have the resources they need.

Applauding the Rio Arriba County Commission for passing a resolution opposing uranium mining in the Carson National Forest. I'm proud to stand alongside the New Mexicans fighting to safeguard the Chama watershed for generations to come.
I am extremely grateful to law enforcement for acting so quickly at today’s Correspondents’ Dinner, and relieved to hear that all in attendance are unharmed. But let me be clear: this violence is unacceptable, and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Violence has no place in our democracy.
Schoolyards should be so much more than concrete or blacktop. That’s why I’m reintroducing my Revitalizing America’s Schoolyards Act. I want to help schools in New Mexico and across the country turn their schoolyards into greener, more enriching outdoor spaces like this one.
