Last night, House Republicans passed a $4.5 trillion tax cut for billionaires that will be paid for by slashing Medicaid & benefits hardworking folks depend on. Every Democrat voted against it. This is just the beginning, and you can count on us to keep standing up for you, not billionaire donors.
Nearly 150,000 people in #CA02 who depend on Medicaid are at risk of losing their health care under the proposed Republican budget. This devastating loss could cost over 50,000 children their health care – all so Trump’s wealthy donors can keep more cash in their pockets. It's outrageous.
Democrats fought back, and we won. But this should never have happened in the first place. Musk's email unleashed chaos and fear and left millions of public servants scrambling. This was such a disturbing overreach by an unelected billionaire.
In just 4 weeks, Trump and his minions have spread chaos all across the country – and this new "cost-saving" budget is no different. Rather than saving costs for average Americans, they're cutting programs people rely on every day so their billionaire friends can get a tax cut.
Thanks to Scott and so many others who called into last night’s telephone town hall – conversations like these are more important now than ever. We are not powerless, and together we can fight back against Trump’s illegal agenda.
The GOP has betrayed the American people to bend the knee to Trump. Most House Republicans hid from their constituents. But when they did show up, Americans made it loud & clear how they feel about their extreme budget scheme to strip benefits from hardworking folks to pay for billionaire tax cuts.
At events from Georgia and Wisconsin to Oklahoma and Oregon, House Republicans faced sometimes-hostile crowds furious about the sweeping budget cuts and mass firings of federal workers that President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s DOGE are carrying out.
How do Republicans propose we help middle class families living paycheck to paycheck? 🏥 Slash health care 🍎 Threaten critical SNAP benefits 💰 Give tax breaks to billionaires This new budget is an undeniable betrayal to families we should be fighting to support.
Thank you to everyone who came out to my town hall in Petaluma. I always enjoy hearing from my constituents – and you made your voices loud and clear about your concerns over Trump & Musk’s disastrous agenda. I will keep fighting for you in D.C.
Now Trump and Musk’s firing spree has reached the FDA – another reminder they care more about funding billionaire tax cuts than ensuring our food is safe. Their illegal, corrupt priorities are completely out of control and I am fighting them at every turn.
Yeah, the numbers don’t add up. Musk and Trump’s mass firing spree isn’t actually saving any meaningful sums of money... All they’re accomplishing is ruining the lives of dedicated public servants. They need to stop the lies and destruction now.
Musk and his corrupt DOGE hackers are attacking the Social Security Administration and IRS – accessing Americans’ private data and trying to strip away vital benefits. An unelected billionaire should not be allowed to sort through your PRIVATE records. This is unacceptable.
Last night: Trump says he won't cut Medicaid. Today: Trump supports House Republicans' plan to cut over $880 billion in spending for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. Trump has once again gone back on his word – betraying the needs of the American people in the process.
Californians know the importance of investing in wildfire prevention all too well – and the absolute LAST thing we need is Trump slashing funding for these critical projects. It'll be our communities who suffer the consequences of these reckless & short-sighted policy decisions.
As part of Trump’s agenda to prioritize tax breaks for billionaires over the safety of our communities, he fired thousands of Forest Service employees last night. These jobs not only contribute to our local economy – but they support essential wildfire prevention work.
