It was an honor to recognize my constituent, Catherine Breed, who has set out to swim more than 900 miles along the California coastline.
I'm grateful to the artist who captured the power of nature and the resilience of this community in such a striking way. Post offices like this are critical to serving our communities, and I’m glad to see Leggett’s back up and running.
Last week I visited the new Leggett Post Office and was thrilled to see the beautiful new facility.
He’s turning a place that belongs to the American people into his very own DC Mar-a-Lago on the taxpayers’ dime.
And the price tag keeps going up. It’s now at least $900 million. This is crazy corruption and a massive grift on Americans.
When it comes to Trump, everything must be bigger, shinier, and all about him — including the White House.
You’re not wrong to be disgusted. Things are broken and riddled with corruption. But I want you to know you aren’t powerless. I’m working in Congress every day to make a better future for our country, and the real power lies with the people I represent.
It’s easy to lose hope in today’s political climate. But I’ve seen it myself - when people stand together and rally around a cause, real change can happen. And that’s often led by newer generations like this young woman at my Town Hall last week.
Tidal channels are being restored, invasive species removed, and critical habitat brought back for salmon, shorebirds, and fish populations.
It’s an incredible example of what thoughtful, collaborative restoration can accomplish.
Last week, I got to visit the Russ Creek and Centerville Slough restoration project. It was amazing to see the Eel River Estuary coming back to life.

I was honored to attend the Hoopa Valley Tribe’s Sovereign Days event today.
Incredible energy from this amazing tribe doing impressive things to help their people and the regional community.
We need wildfire action now, and this is the way to get it done.
Fires are raging across the country, and we have the solution.
House Democrats just introduced the Wildfire Response and Readiness Act. Fair pay for wildland firefighters. Real help making homes harder to burn. Our forests cared for before a fire turns catastrophic.

This fake, illegal settlement kills good-paying jobs, raises electricity costs, and rewards Big Oil with taxpayer dollars.
When the accountability comes, and I promise you it’s coming, everyone involved in these deals will answer for it.
Trump just paid RWE over $1 BILLION in taxpayer money to walk away from offshore wind projects – including a project off Humboldt in my district – and invest in fossil fuels instead.

Their commitment to caring for our communities is inspiring, but they are up against a cliff with Trump and Republicans’ terrible funding cuts. I'll keep fighting to ensure they have the resources they need to continue this important work.
This week, I visited West County Health Center to celebrate National Health Center Week and meet with the dedicated providers, staff, and community leaders working every day to expand access to quality, affordable health care.
So we’re turning up the pressure on the FAA to do the right thing about this issue we've been pushing on for two years.
