During a cost-of-living emergency for families and small businesses, Senate Republicans today — over bipartisan opposition — pushed through legislation that puts the interests of the President over the pocketbooks of the American people. My statement:
During a cost-of-living emergency for families and small businesses, Senate Republicans today — over bipartisan opposition — pushed through legislation that puts the interests of the President over the pocketbooks of the American people.

This bill expands a partisan slush fund for ICE, allows the President to continue his extravagant golden ballroom project, and paves the way for the President to roll out his $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded giveaway to January 6 insurrectionists, convicted criminals, and other political allies.

Granite Staters and Americans see the President’s failures every day on gas station signs, grocery store receipts, electric bills, and at the pharmacy counter. They’re exhausted and need relief now.
Bill Pulte has zero qualifications to serve as Director of National Intelligence. He’s abused his current post to target the President's political opponents. Our national security is too important to put someone like Pulte in charge.
Housing, child care, and health care costs are soaring under President Trump. Too many young people can't buy a home and build a future in NH. The status quo just isn't working for families, and Congress must take action to deliver relief. www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2026...
Great to visit the construction of new apartments in Manchester yesterday. As rents rise and the dream of homeownership becomes harder to reach, we need to build more housing that families can afford, and we need to do it fast.

In the dark of night and over bipartisan opposition, Senate Republicans advanced a partisan slush fund for ICE that gives the agency more money than ever before while doing nothing to rein in the agency’s increasing lawlessness.
Last week I met with representatives from state agencies and community groups about the concerns they have about the Administration’s recent announced changes to the U.S. Forest Service. Thank you to everyone who is speaking up about how these changes hurt NH. www.conwaydailysun.com/news/local/s...
Saddened to hear about the passing of Earl Sweeney, a leader in New Hampshire law enforcement for many years. Earl was down to earth, smart, and kind, but he held firm when he needed to! He will be greatly missed.
Great to visit the Carroll County Retired Seniors Volunteer Program today and hear about the work they’re doing to help local seniors with rides to doctor appointments, wellness checks, Meals on Wheels deliveries, and other critical services.
AI voice cloning tools are helping scams become more personalized and harder to detect. That's why I'm asking four companies with leading voice cloning technology to increase their efforts to deter scammers, prevent misuse, and protect Americans from fraud. www.axios.com/2026/04/16/h...
On the second Monday in April we honor General John Stark, author of our state’s iconic motto: Live Free or Die. The passion of this Revolutionary War hero lives on in New Hampshire today, throughout every town and city.
It's a relief that President Trump agreed to a ceasefire rather than follow through on his unhinged threats, but let's be clear: Granite Staters and Americans want a permanent end to this illegal, dangerous, and costly war.
