Last month, as the Chair of the @newdems.bsky.social Economic Growth & Cost of Living working group, I co-led the release of a pro-business tax framework supporting incentives for domestic research and development, manufacturing, and intellectual property creation and retention.
Because of the Trump Administration's tariffs, business like theirs are facing uncertainty about what the next quarter will bring. It's customers, suppliers and the 400+ employees at the Morgantown facility need certainty, not chaos.
I headed over to Morgantown to tour Viwinco's manufacturing facility and its impressive research and development lab. The company sources materials from across the world to manufacture windows and storm doors here in Berks County.

It lifts 22 million people out of poverty, including nearly one million children. It helps nearly 3 million Pennsylvanians buy groceries, pay bills, and afford their rent or mortgage.
Today, we celebrate 90 years of Social Security. Signed into law by FDR, it is a benefit Americans earn over their working lifetime, paying into it with each paycheck in order to provide them a safety net when they no longer work.
Today is the 80th anniversary of V-J Day, marking the day that the Allied forces emerged victorious over the Axis Powers in WWII. Let us never forget the sacrifices made to protect the world from tyranny and the bravery shown by American G.I's and military leadership to end the war.
It was a pleasure meeting the AEONRG team in my West Chester office to discuss their business and how the SBA supports them and other small businesses. Hopefully next time we have a chance to connect, Army vet and company leader Bill will leave the Air Force slander at the door.
Chester County's AEONRG received the 2025 Eastern Pennsylvania Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year award. They conduct facility maintenance, repairs, and infrastructure work, including upgrades to the Coatesville VA Medical Center.
As families are getting ready to send kids back to school, they are facing higher prices for everything from basic classroom supplies and backpacks to new shoes, sports equipment and clothing. Tariffs are a tax, plain and simple. Americans families are paying the price.

It was a pleasure to visit JA Moody in Malvern, PA and see firsthand the vital role they play in supporting U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and amphibious warships.
My thanks to the Piasecki team for their continued investment in Pennsylvania, their commitment to our armed forces, and for the opportunity to speak with staff in the Coatesville facility, which employs around 100 people.
Piasecki is a critical partner in our national defense so we also discussed the NDAA and the upcoming annual budget process which will restart after the August recess.
Piasecki Aircraft has been pushing the boundaries of experimental aviation since its founding in 1955, and is an important employer in our community. I had the chance to visit with employees and receive a briefing from leadership on the company's work with both the US Army and Navy.
