There aren’t words to describe how horrifying this is. Trump is arresting and disappearing students with legal status just because of their political views and speech. These are the actions of a dictator. Justice for Rumeysa NOW.
An international graduate student at Tufts University was taken into federal custody on Tuesday outside an off-campus apartment building, the university’s president said. The university was told that the student’s visa had been terminated. nyti.ms/4hRzPq1
🚨NEW: Private insurers are trying to destroy Medicare through Medicare DisAdvantage. Democrats in Congress are fighting back. With @delauro.house.gov, @schakowsky.house.gov, & @doggett.house.gov, I’m leading 74 members in calling on the admin to enact urgent reforms to Medicare DisAdvantage plans.
Mahmoud Khalil is only the first case in Trump’s war against free speech — and it certainly won’t be the last. He’s using an authoritarian playbook to silence any and all dissenting voices. We must fight back.
Let’s talk about what it ACTUALLY costs to run a cancer research lab. Trump & Musk are cutting indirect costs — that’s the heat, the electricity and more — and without those things, research doesn’t happen. Listen to Dr. Nelson, VP of Precision Oncology at @fredhutch.bsky.social, lay it out.
In just the last four years, FEMA has provided more than 13 million gallons of water, over 31 million meals, and $12 billion to disaster survivors. Now Trump is planning to dismantle FEMA, leaving you to fend for yourself after a flood, hurricane, or tornado strikes.
A MASSIVE victory for gun violence prevention: SCOTUS upholds Democratic policy to limit ghost guns — something Trump tried to block. Ghost guns are used by dangerous people who can’t pass background checks. This will help keep guns out of their hands. apnews.com/article/supr...
Hegseth, Waltz, and everyone involved on the Signal chain should resign. This level of incompetence is clearly extensive throughout Trump’s cabinet and goes all the way to the top. This also begs the question, why was any of this being discussed on a signal chain?
Great to join Shoreline College's WAVES Asian Pacific Islander Student Center to discuss the current state of education. It was so refreshing to be around so many students, faculty, and community members who are ready to stand up and protect education and our democracy!
America does not suffer from scarcity — we suffer from greed. And what does taking on that greed look like? Taxing the rich, breaking up big corporations, lowering costs, raising wages, and fighting back against corruption. Democrats are ready to stand up for working people.
The dismantling and destruction of USAID has been illegal, chaotic, and is a danger to our national security and our American interests. And it has all come at the hands of Elon Musk — an unelected billionaire, terminating programs that literally save lives.
What the Trump admin is doing to Mahmoud Khalil — disappearing him to an ICE facility because they didn’t like what he had to say — is unconstitutional, full stop. Silencing free speech is the playbook of authoritarians and dictators. Every single American should be outraged.
