Our service members often spend their prime reproductive years in dangerous, hazardous conditions or physically separated from their partner. So it’s unsurprising that ⅔ of service members report family-building challenges because of their military service.
For months, I've fought hard alongside @SenDuckworth for IVF coverage for service members in the NDAA.
Against all odds, we passed our bipartisan amendments in the House and Senate. So I’m very disappointed that Speaker Johnson removed it from the final version of the NDAA.

A trans military ban would cost $18 billion to recruit, train, and replace the thousands of fully trained and qualified trans personnel in our ranks. We shouldn’t throw this money (and our values) down the drain.
Families across the country are paying more for child care than rent, mortgages, or college tuition... it's ridiculous.
We need to build a universal child care system so families aren't spending most of their paychecks on this one expense.
I’m so proud of my team’s work to cut through red tape and solve problems for our constituents! Check out some of our recent casework successes here. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
This is a good step – but we need to establish more guardrails for predatory and unregulated data brokers. The Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act would put checks on all data brokers and help keep our data safe and private.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise #SpotifyWrapped2024
Health care decisions should be between a doctor and their patient – not the government. I urge the Supreme Court to protect trans rights in US v. Skrmetti.
Thank you CFPB! Data brokers routinely collect, track, or sell our personal data to shady characters, police, and governments around the world. This much-needed rule would help protect our privacy and national security.
We need creativity and new ideas to address all the problems our country is facing. That’s why I was glad to join a workshop with the All Girls STEM Society and chat with some students who are getting involved and advocating for the issues they care about.
My team and I had so much fun visiting Miramar’s Child Development Center, reading "Brave Like Me" to the kids, and doing some arts and crafts!
Had so much fun chatting with the amazing young women in Girl Scout Troop 3425!
San Diego is home to so many innovative and thriving small businesses. Check out some of the ones I’ve been to recently and remember to #ShopSmall this #SmallBusinessSaturday!
It was so great to tour Meals on Wheels San Diego’s new Kitchen & Senior Innovation Hub and hear more about their work to ensure that families in our community have the food and resources they need, especially during the holiday season.
Don't forget... Medicare Open Enrollment has started! Check out some of the big improvements that Democrats have made to Medicare and what we're doing to lower your health care costs even more.
Donald Trump’s mass deportation and broad tariffs plans would devastate San Diego’s economy and raise prices across the country.
The cost of rent is already too high – families shouldn't be paying more than that for child care.
That’s why we need to invest in a universal, affordable child care system that meets the needs of every parent, provider, and child.
