Trump says skyrocketing gas prices due to his reckless war in Iran are “a very small price to pay” and “ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENT!”
He’s screwing you over with $5/gallon gas and expecting you to thank him. We won’t fall for that.
Just so we’re keeping track, here are basic questions the Trump Administration can’t answer:
- Are we at war with Iran?
- What is the goal?
- How long will this go on?
- What is the cost?
- Will we put troops on the ground?
This President has no plan. This reckless war needs to end.
Pete Hegseth spent millions of taxpayer dollars on lobster, king crab, steaks, and other frivolous things while Americans struggle to make ends meet. Now, he’s launching a reckless war costing the American people billions of dollars and raising our gas prices.
Gas prices in San Diego went up almost 60 CENTS a gallon in one week because Donald Trump launched a reckless war with Iran. $5.40/gallon and war in the Middle East are not what anyone voted for.
We need strict guardrails when the military uses AI, whether it’s in Iran or anywhere else – full stop.
The system is broken and unsustainable. We need to fund universal child care.
Congress should pass my bill – the LEGACY Act – to tax trust fund kids more and invest it in affordable, high quality child care for every family.
175 civilians – mostly little girls – at a school in Iran had nothing to do with this awful war. It looks like the U.S. was responsible for their deaths, and if so, this Administration must take accountability. I’m proud to lead 121 House Democrats in demanding answers.
Public pressure continues to force the DOJ’s hand. We won’t settle for anything less than full transparency AND accountability. Release all the files.
Trump’s MO has always been chaos – but no matter where you look, it’s bad. We’ve been launched into a new war, prices are up, jobs are down, and horrifying allegations from the Epstein files are being revealed.
He’s a failure, and we’re paying the price.
PSA: All Americans wishing to leave the Middle East safely should enroll in STEP with the U.S. State Department to receive the latest security updates from the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Then fill out a crisis intake form: mytravel.state.gov/s/crisis-int....
Somehow, there’s always money and the political will for unnecessary wars of choice, but never for the things we actually want, like affordable child care, housing, or health care.
This is gut-wrenching. All of these children deserve justice and accountability. And that’s why, as founder of the Protection of Civilians in Conflict Caucus, I will be leading an effort to call for all the findings of DOD's ongoing investigation to be made public.
Donald Trump’s war with Iran is a grave mistake, so I won’t vote for a defense supplemental. Voting yes isn’t a vote for our troops; it’s the opposite. It will put them in harm’s way for objectives we can’t achieve and will be taken as an endorsement of this illegal war.
Amidst it all, Trump’s ugly ballroom is still being built.
Trump isn’t working on a single thing that would improve Americans’ lives.
Trump is raising your gas prices while making the world much less safe. He’s breaking promises left and right.
Caleb and Joshua are OUT of the Dilley detention center. Now, we need to keep up the pressure to shut down Dilley for good.
I'm here at the Dilley detention center today and I'm SO relieved that the Gámez-Cuéllar family is coming home. Like many others, they have followed the rules and ICE detained them anyway. We will keep fighting to end mass detention and shut down Dilley.
Iran’s new Ayatollah is still part of the hardline regime so the U.S. spent billions of dollars, lost Americans, and spiked gas prices for a worse outcome for Iranians. This is why the U.S. shouldn’t engage in regime-change operations in the first place: they usually backfire.
I will vote YES on tomorrow's Iran war powers resolution. And if any of my colleagues vote no, they should come to my district and explain to our service members why they believe debating before we risk their lives is a bad thing.
Another predictable consequence of reckless American wars in the Middle East: rising gas prices.
