🚨 The United States lost its AAA credit rating yesterday when Moody’s downgraded it citing large fiscal deficits and rising interest costs. Compounded with Trump Tariff price inflation and losses in global trade and tourism, these are troubling economic signs that call for course correction.
Service runs deep in NW Ohio as does gratitude for those who take an oath to protect our nation. In my office each branch of our military has their seal displayed as a reminder of the courage, commitment, and sacrifice that protect our freedoms. On this #ArmedForcesDay we thank you for your service.
During National Police Week, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service of our law enforcement officers. I stand with our NW Ohio communities in gratitude for the heroes who gave their lives protecting our citizenry.
GOP fails to pass their own Budget bill. Working families, parents juggling multiple jobs, hourly workers trying to make ends meet, and caregivers who already stretch every $ just to put food on the table are all at risk as House GOP plans gut the safety net to give more to the Billionaire Class.

🚨 BREAKING: We just stopped the Republican budget bill in committee.
Whether it's adding trillions to the debt, massive giveaways to billionaires, or millions of Americans kicked off their health care, Republicans know how unpopular this bill is.
We wont stop fighting back.
Budgets are about American values. This one is cruel, lopsided, and dangerous. Let's begin with the most glaring danger. This bill takes a wrecking ball to Medicaid, on which 1 in 5 Americans, and 3 million Ohioans depend for medical care.
Today on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty. Each one a protector. Their courage endures, and their absence is felt every day. May we honor them not only in memory, but in how we value and support those who continue to serve.
Our phones are buzzing with Ohioans outraged at the $400 Million luxury “palace in the sky” President Trump accepted from Qatar. It violates the emoluments Clause of the Constitution even as the nation is short on air traffic controllers trained to keep us safe in the skies.
The GOP budget slashes over $300 Billion from SNAP to fund tax cuts for Billionaires. With @demwomencaucus.bsky.social I called on the other side of the aisle to stop attacks on women and families and stand with moms, children, and seniors. Dump this extremist bill!
Celebrating the new Wayman Palmer YMCA in Toledo. Federal investment has helped create a beacon of opportunity and a hub of community for the Warren Sherman neighborhood.
Joined the USO to help assemble care packages for American service members deployed around the globe. They are on the front lines to defend the cause of Liberty for us all. This is just one small way we can give back, and thank them for their dutiful service.
Thankful to @shawnfainuaw.bsky.social for joining the @laborcaucus.house.gov for a fruitful discussion about how we can stand with autoworkers in NW Ohio and across our nation. As a proud daughter of the @uaw.org I was raised on the promise, that when unions fight, we all win. #1u
Tonight at 5:15 pm I will be holding a telephone town hall focused on issues relating to seniors and Social Security. I will be joined by special guests @repjohnlarson.govpeeps.us and Max Richtman who serves as President and CEO of @ncpssm.bsky.social. You can join us by going to Access.Live/Kaptur

Wright's Wrongs: @delauro.house.gov and @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social expose Secretary Chris Wright's incorrect, misleading, or outright false statements made during last week's hearing.
Laurie’s Place, a new collaborative space to allow Mom’s House and The Pregnancy Center to expand services and deepen their impact for our NW Ohio community is off to a great start. This week we the saw this extraordinary vision become a reality.
As our nation celebrates Mother’s Day 2025, may the beauty of this Spring bring sheer joy and happy memories to the women who anchor our families, nurture the best that is in us and build community for generations to come. Celebrate Mom!
Saint Benedict School celebrates #TeacherAppreciationWeek. Our brilliant educators are much more than just teachers: They are role models, mentors, and dedicated advocates for their students. Honored to return to where I learned so much and meet with 8th grade students and teachers.
While the Trump Organization banks $1 Billion a month since the Inauguration, small business owners are struggling. Costs are soaring, margins shrinking, and uncertainty lurks as arbitrary tariffs create chaos.
This #SmallBusinessWeek, stand with your local entrepreneurs over the Billionaires.
On #NationalTrainDay, we celebrate the power of rail to connect communities, create jobs, and drive economic growth. For years, we've fought to strengthen rail in NW Ohio, and I’ll continue to advocate for a modern, safe, and efficient system that benefits us all. Here’s to a brighter rail future!
