Thank you night shift workers from SEIU, CWA, and ATU for a wide ranging discussion. Grateful for the workers that joined both to participate and listen this afternoon. Your stories inspire action and hope!
Celebrating the Butch Lewis Act, which has safeguarded pensions for more than 1 MILLION union retirees nationwide since 2021. This landmark legislation is about more than just numbers — it’s about properly honoring the lifetime of commitment by our workers. #PensionProtection #1u
Our first responders, teachers, and tradesmen shouldn't pay more on their taxes than Wall Street speculators. While the GOP keep pushing for more tax cuts for Millionaires and Billionaires, I will keep working to make sure the wealthy actually step up and pay their fair share.
As a Member of the Democratic Women's Caucus, today I celebrate the legacy of Women’s Equality Day. This day honors the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. We stand on the shoulders of the brave women who fought for this right for us, and carry their legacies forward.
3 years ago Corpsman Maxton William Soviak and 12 fellow servicemembers were killed by a suicide bomber at the Abbey Gate of Kabul airport in Afghanistan. On September 10th, 2024 we will honor their service and sacrifice by posthumously awarding them the Congressional Gold Medal.
On this #UkrainianIndependenceDay Ukrainians are fighting against an illegal Russian invasion as a force for Liberty on the continent of Europe to maintain freedom and independence in their native land. Our bipartisan 100 Member Ukraine Caucus stand with you today, and every day.
As a career urban planner, today I join housing advocates across the country in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. The Department of Housing and Urban Development is ensuring access to safe and affordable housing for so many.
Great to join members of our NW Ohio Hungarian-American community to help kick off Hungarian Food Fest. The story of our region is the power of its communities and the resilience of our people.
Happy Birthday AFLCIO Maritime Trades! Honored to serve the hardworking men and women working on our Great Lakes and rivers. Education, apprenticeships, and training are essential to growing our skilled workforce and ensuring a prosperous future for our Great Lakes Region.🚢
Good to be back at Liberty Aviation Museum to unveil a new statue to honor the life and legacy of Tuskegee Airman Dr. Harold Brown of Port Clinton, Ohio. Harold served during WWII as a P-51C fighter pilot, was shot down in the European Theatre and became a prisoner of war.
Families in Ohio are feeling the squeeze from rising food costs, and shrinking serving sizes. I'm taking action to crack down on corporate price gouging while standing up for hardworking Ohioans. We need an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
