🚨APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED🚨 We are still accepting applications for the Spring 2024 internship cohort in our DC Office. We are looking for hardworking, bright individuals that want to gain invaluable experience working in public service — Ohioans encouraged to apply!
Wishing a Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating in Northern Ohio, across our country, and around the globe. Hope that you and your loved ones find brightness, happiness, and meaning during this joyous Festival of Lights.
This Veterans Day, we gather together in our NW Ohio communities, and across the nation to honor the brave men and women whose service preserved liberty and ensured freedom for all Americans. We owe a debt of gratitude to those who served our nation faithfully at home and abroad.
Great to speak to students at Ottawa Hills Elementary School this morning about the importance of Veterans Day, and to be able to present a flag flown over the Capitol to local Vietnam Veteran John Christen. I thank John, and all veterans for their noble service to our country.
As we recognize Veterans Day this week, I introduced the bipartisan Last Servicemember Standing Medal Act to recognize Sergeant Eade of Toledo, Ohio and others who continued to fight for their country against enemy forces even as every one of their squad-mates gave their lives.
Joined with colleagues from both sides of the aisle for a candlelight vigil marking one month since the October 7th Hamas attacks on Israel, in a united call for a release of the hostages, for peace in the region, and to remember all the lives lost in the month that has followed.
Joined the 180th Fighter Wing this morning at Sylvania’s Northview High School for a Veterans Appreciation Pancake Breakfast. As we approach Veterans Day, enjoyed being with so many students, airmen, and veterans to honor those who served to secure our freedoms.
Glad to join @rweingarten.bsky.social and so many other labor leaders for the OhIo AFLCIO’s 53rd annual dinner. Given the wins and fights this year in the labor movement the theme of celebrating "Union Women in the Workforce” was truly fitting, because when union women fight, we all win. #1u
It is an urgent need that peace-seeking civilians have access to relief and support. I continue to call upon the Administration to prioritize the safe and timely delivery of aid to the people of Gaza. The destruction of innocent people is never morally justifiable.
The United States stands with our ally in its time of need to counter the threat to Israel from terrorists and to free hostages who remain in grave danger. We must prioritize the safety of innocent civilians in Gaza and beyond and pray for compassion and understanding in the days ahead.
REMINDER there is one (1) week left to apply for the Spring 2024 internship cohort in our DC Office. We are looking for hardworking, bright individuals looking to gain invaluable experience working in public service — Ohioans, tell your family, tell your friends, and apply today!
As a daughter of the UAW, the historic stand up strike was deeply personal to me. So proud of workers from GM, Ford, and Stellantis for standing together to get agreements that allow them to earn the wages and benefits they deserve.
Kindness on full display today, helping jump start Gregory’s stalled Jeep. Jamie ran into nearby store to buy a Coke, poured it over the battery, to eat away the corrosion. A resourceful Jeep retiree loaned his cables. Complete strangers solving a problem together. 🇺🇸👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
The House GOP have elected a Speaker of the House. Now it’s time that we get the People’s House back to Regular Order and do the work the American people sent us here to do.
To allow the House to remain in free fall is not in America’s interest. The clock is ticking. Members who wish to meet their sworn duty should be allowed to function. The GOP should take the handcuffs off the House, and elect a Speaker. My Roll Call Op-Ed:
Joined The Junction Coalition today to announce $600,000 in CDC funding to spur on community engagement, educational programming, and ultimately reduce and prevent lead exposure in Toledo.
