Leader Jeffries is right—we must find the Big Middle—working together to find bipartisan cooperation across the aisle so that we can truly do the work of the American people and not be consumed by the chaos created by those on the extreme fringes.
Our House must restore order expeditiously to be an effective instrument for the people of our nation and to meet our nation’s responsibilities as leader of the free world.
Destruction of innocent people is never morally justifiable. I stand resolutely against all terror and stand with the Israeli people as they encounter the darkest days in the history of the modern state.
I continue to be horrified and dismayed by the brutality of Hamas terrorists attacking innocent Israeli civilians of all ages. The fingerprints of Iranian strategy and technology are as present here as they are in attacks against Ukraine.
Today’s brutal and heinous attack by Hamas on Israel and her people is unforgivable. It is heartbreaking for so many of us who seek a lasting Peace in the Middle East. We stand united in support of Israelis and Palestinians and pray for compassion and understanding in days ahead.

Today’s terrorist attacks on Israel are horrific. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Israel at this time of immense pain and profound sorrow.
Then I visited Materion in Ottawa County, where they are doing transformative work with strategic metals and 3D Printing, with their materials being used everywhere from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, to United States Air Force F-35’s, to semi-conductor chips.
First, I visited the Whirlpool manufacturing facility in Clyde, Ohio and got to meet so many great workers that are from multi-generational families, doing inspiring work.
Visited two great companies in honor of National Manufacturing Day that are making it right here in Northwest Ohio.
Glad to be back out on the line this morning with workers from UAW in Toledo. I will continue to support you and your efforts for a fair contract, as long as it takes. Record profits should mean record contracts.
We passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to help finance big projects that will make a difference in people’s lives—this new $10.7 Million investment means safety and peace of mind for communities between Napoleon, Defiance and all the way to Fort Wayne.
America is so much better than this orchestrated chaos. Let us stop the fits, delays, and fringe antics. My message is crystal clear—do the work for which the American people have elected us.
Wishing fellow Ohioan and longtime friend David McCall all good things as he becomes President of the United Steelworkers. Look forward to his leadership to protect and expand the US Steel industry. David knows when unions fight, workers win.
This week I visited Johnston Fruit Farms in Fulton County, and picked up some apples for UAW workers I visited later that day in Toledo. Glad to continue to support local growers, and make sure our workers fighting for a better contract have something nutritious to eat.
Wishing a Happy 99th Birthday to President Jimmy Carter! Thank you for all your years of thoughtful service and dedication to our country.
Statement From Congresswoman Kaptur Following Vote To Pass Continuing Resolution To Fund Government Through November 17:
I work across the aisle to find the Big Middle and deliver for NW OH. Defunding police? Firing teachers? Shuttering Social Security offices? It’s reckless! House GOP can’t pass their own hurtful legislation to keep government open—Speaker McCarthy do your job—avoid this shutdown!
Her acute mastery of the energy and water needs of our nation had no comparison. My thoughts and prayers are with her dear daughter Katherine at this trying time. Her loss is truly a great loss for our the nation. Rest in peace my dear friend.
I am deeply saddened at the news of the passing of Senator Feinsten this morning. Dianne and I worked closely over many years to protect the waters of the United States, which are amongst our nations most precious resources.
