Marcy Kaptur

Marcia Carolyn Kaptur is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 9th congressional district since 1983. A member of the Democratic Party, Kaptur is the longest-serving woman in congressional history and the dean of Ohio's congressional delegation since 2009 when Representative Ralph Regula retired. Her district is located in northwestern Ohio along the southern shore of Lake Erie and includes parts of Toledo and other communities in Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Ottawa, Lucas, Sandusky, Williams, and Wood counties.

On hand today as Springfield Schools dedicated the Everett W. Harris Building. Mr. Harris faithfully served his community for over 50 years on the Springfield Township School Board — this dedication pays tribute and honors his many years of service.
When I voted for the Science Act and bipartisan CHIPS Act it was to incentivize investment and production in the USA. Now we are cutting reliance on Chinese suppliers who flood our markets with cheap goods. Imports from China are down 24%. #MakeItInAmerica

When I voted to lower Insulin costs for seniors on Medicare as part of the Inflation Reduction Act not a single Republican joined me. Seniors in NW Ohio are now saving as much as $1,307 annually.
3 students from #OH09 were awarded scholarships by Ohio Sea Grant to participate in a week-long science course at Stone Lab. Congratulations to Elizabeth Theobald of Archbold, Macy Ladd of Put-in-Bay, and Alexander Mian of Toledo on this prestigious honor.
Joined Ambassador Oksana Markarova and U.S. Embassy Kyiv Ukraine for a film screening and discussion of “Escape From The Russians” focused on Russian war crimes against Ukrainian children. Heard from Masha and Nastya who were taken by Russia, and the women who helped save them.
