Democrats want to sit down to prevent a shutdown & protect your health care. Trump and Republicans are cancelling meetings, throwing tantrums, & forcing a shutdown. Why are they so hell-bent on making sure your health care premiums double next year?
Political violence is not acceptable. All of us have a responsibility to say that as many times as it takes. It is utterly irresponsible for a prominent conservative outlet to publish an explicit call to violence. Everyone should disavow this, publicly and immediately.
When Trump said he would cut drug prices by 1000%, he actually meant he would hike prices by 100%. When you see that prescriptions cost more, along with nearly everything you purchase, remember it's because of Trump's tariffs—and the Republicans in Congress who refuse to act.
Analysts warn U.S. consumers that they could see higher prices due to new tariffs President Trump plans to impose on drug product imports as soon as next week.
In Seattle, I met with doctors and health care leaders about Republican attacks on Medicaid, the ACA, and vaccines. From every angle, Republicans are driving up costs and making America less healthy. Democrats are fighting to lower costs and save your health care.
Our craven Attorney General will really do anything Trump says.   The DOJ doesn't exist to punish Trump's enemies, it's meant to work for the American people. This is an egregious abuse of power by the most corrupt President in history.
Another pathetic lie from a pathetic President. You know, the guy who promised to lower costs on day one? This is about him refusing to do anything about exploding health care costs for American CITIZENS. Premiums are set to DOUBLE across the country.
Government funding runs out in less than a week. Trump was supposed to meet with Democrats today. Instead of talking about how to keep government open and save your health care, he's throwing a tantrum. Message to Trump: Grow up. Behave like an adult—sit down with Democrats.
Here's a Republican Senator loudly and proudly calling for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Republicans still want to let insurance deny you coverage for preexisting conditions like cancer. Democrats believe everyone should have affordable, quality health care.
Who is Trump trying to fire exactly? These geniuses have had to scramble to REHIRE thousands of workers ranging from nuclear scientists to food safety inspectors tracking bird flu. Intimidation tactics won't work. Behave like an adult—negotiate with Democrats.
“Completely unhinged and unreasonable and unserious." Is Leader Thune talking about the president? Here's the truth: Republicans are forcing a shutdown because they won't so much as sit down with Democrats to find a solution to fund the government & protect your health care.
Birth control is NOT abortion. But Republicans are trying to classify it as such so they can lay the groundwork to BAN contraception altogether. Trump is invoking this lie to destroy $10 MILLION worth of contraceptives—& I'm not letting it fly under the radar.
At a Senate Education Committee hearing on the state of K-12 education, I had to be honest. Trump is illegally freezing & cancelling funding for our schools and doing everything he can to dismantle the Department of Education. The state of education is in shambles.
Trump's Big Ugly Bill kicks 15 million people off their health care, and unless Congress acts, premiums will double for 20+ million Americans. Democrats want to solve the GOP health care crisis & keep government open. But Republicans won't even TALK about health care.
I was in Vancouver yesterday, meeting with local small business owners to talk about how Trump’s tariffs are costing them big time. These tariffs are a TAX on consumers and small businesses alike. Republicans can vote with Democrats to END these tariffs any day of the week.
What Homan and other Trump officials should remember is that eventually the law and its consequences will catch up to them. Maybe Republicans are willing to ignore bribery & blatant corruption, But I certainly am not. This shouldn’t be acceptable to ANYONE, regardless of party.
Yet another absurd and delusional rant from the President, who apparently can't handle a meeting with Democrats on his own. Trump would rather force a shutdown than simply talk to Democrats about keeping government open and preventing health care premiums from exploding.
This has maybe been the most uninformed and dangerous “health” press conference held by the U.S. government in my lifetime.   Don’t listen to Trump or RFK Jr. when it comes to vaccines, Tylenol, or anything having to do with your health—talk to your doctor.   My god.
Breaking News: In a rambling news briefing, President Trump promoted unproven ties between vaccines, autism and Tylenol use by pregnant women and babies. nyti.ms/46OqOvD
