Thinking of our servicemembers who should never have been put at risk like this.   Trump's reckless attack was not necessary or justified, according to ANY intelligence I was briefed on. No strategy. No endgame.   But Iran should NOT seek to escalate conflict with our military any further.
The American people do not want to begin a war with Iran, and Trump does not have the unilateral authority to start one. I'll keep speaking up on behalf of my constituents, the overwhelming majority of whom don't want to be dragged into another forever war.
Gina raised her 3 grandkids after her daughter Tiffany died in 2007, delaying care for pulmonary hypertension because she was uninsured after losing her job.   Tiffany's story helped pass the ACA. Now, Gina is fighting to protect Medicaid.   No cuts to Medicaid. We can't go back.
Trump's' Big Ugly bill will: -Kick 16 million people off their health care -Force hospitals to shutter -Push seniors out of nursing homes -Increase health care costs for everyone.
Why? To cut taxes for billionaires.   Republicans need to know the country is paying attention.
Even if you aren't one of the 16 MILLION Americans losing their health care under Trump's Big Ugly bill, the Republican cuts will strain our entire health care system. That means higher costs and less access to care for EVERYONE. NO Senator should vote for this bill.
As Americans celebrate Juneteenth, I want to say: Trump can try to erase whatever history he doesn't like, and he can try to brand "diversity" as something bad. But he won't succeed. We'll remember ALL of our history and affirm that diversity is our strength here in America.
SHUTTING DOWN RURAL HOSPITALS—that's the Republican agenda. If their Big, Ugly, Betrayal of a bill passes, rural hospitals across America will be forced to shutter. This will hit Central & Eastern Washington the hardest. We can kill this bill, but NOW is the time to speak up.
Politicians should not be able to interfere in health care decisions that belong between doctors, patients, and their families. The fight for trans rights doesn't end at the Supreme Court. We carry it forward in Congress, in state capitols, and in our communities.
Of course I oppose the trans care ban, just as I oppose the entire bill. I assume this question was shouted as I was walking between meetings. I had not seen the language but let me be clear: I support stripping out as much from the bill as Democrats can, including this ban.
On whether Democrats would challenge the transgender ban in Medicaid, Patty Murray says “I haven’t seen the language.”
Most people aren't tracking this, but the Big Ugly bill would effectively ban marketplace insurers from covering abortion care in ALL 50 states. We can't let this stand. Please help spread the word. Republicans are jamming this bill through—we have to speak up NOW.
We now know that the GOP's Big Ugly bill would allow for the sale of 250 MILLION acres of public land. 5.4 million in Washington state. We can't let them jam this through in secret. Help me say it loud and clear for Republicans: Public lands belong in public hands.
There's not a day that ends in Y where Republicans aren’t trying to ban abortion in Congress. This time, they want to effectively ban ACA insurers from covering abortion care, AND they want to defund & shutter Planned Parenthood clinics. We need to speak up NOW to stop this bill.
Republicans are trying to cut Medicaid while they jam through massive tax giveaways for giant corporations & billionaires. But if there's money for military parades, there's money for Medicaid. Every Senator should vote NO on this Big, Ugly, Betrayal of a bill.
This is a disgraceful and heinous comment, beneath the dignity of a United States Senator. Completely unhinged, abhorrent, and divorced from reality. I’ve called on Senator Lee to take down these posts apologize publicly at minimum.
Under Trump's new rules, veterans can be refused care by individual doctors just because they are unmarried, are registered Democrats, or identify as LGBTQ. VA is for ALL veterans, not just whoever Trump says. Every Senator needs to demand that this policy be reversed.
Pete Hegseth tried to tell me there was "no litmus test" to hire anyone at DoD. Not true.   Why does a WELDER need to share with the federal government what their favorite Trump Executive Order is as part of their job application?   Drop the politics. Hire the best. That simple.
There are no kings in America. We need to remind ourselves that our voices are important. That we do need to stand up and say what we believe in. That's how we change the direction of this country. That's what democracy is.
On the 250th anniversary of the Army, today should be about the men and women who serve. Instead, Trump is putting tanks on the street at massive cost to the American taxpayer. And of course, he's fundraising off it while referring to it as HIS parade. Disgraceful.
Stunned and horrified at this news. This is wrong . Political violence can never be tolerated in America—it’s a direct assault on democracy. My thoughts today are with the victims and their loved ones in Minnesota. We need swift justice & full accountability.
