ICYMI: Trump's HHS Deputy Secretary nominee thinks FDA should “take a fresh look” at the settled science that proves mifepristone is safer than Tylenol—all because of a bogus new "study" funded by anti-abortion activists. Why? To rip away medication abortion from millions of women.
Few people have done as much as Joe Biden to support lifesaving research to cure cancer, and no question about it: that work has saved lives. I'm wishing Joe a speedy recovery, and my thoughts are with him, Jill, and the entire Biden family during this difficult time.
Thanks to Trump, our disaster relief agency is "not ready" for hurricane season. This is the obvious outcome when you push out thousands of staff and try to eliminate the agency altogether. Make no mistake: Trump is putting Americans' lives in danger.
Our national debt would be DECLINING if not for Republican authored tax cuts. Now Republicans are fighting to pass a bill that would EXPLODE the debt by TRILLIONS and also kick millions of Americans off their health care. Republicans are a DISASTER for the economy.
Trump is ripping water infrastructure funding from blue states—and it's exactly why I voted against the Republican CR that gave him the authority to do it. This is a dangerous precedent that cannot stand. People need to know the President is abusing our taxpayer dollars.
Yesterday, Trump released a plan to rob blue states of Army Corps funding. His partisan plan cuts off blue states like mine from HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for water infrastructure we need. This is historic thuggery straight from the White House, & we've got to speak out.
I passed the Digital Equity Act into law, and EVERY SINGLE STATE applied for federal funding. Even KRISTI NOEM gladly sought funding from it. But now, Trump is blocking funding to send rural school districts laptops because he doesn’t like the word EQUITY. Make it make sense.
🚨Trump is ripping away taxpayer dollars from blue states like mine for critical Army Corps projects that support foundational water infrastructure. He is defunding the Howard Hanson Dam to the tune of nearly HALF A BILLION DOLLARS. This is some corrupt BS. I'm fighting back.
Turns out there ISN'T rampant Social Security fraud, but Elon's witch hunt, driven by his insane conspiracy theories, IS keeping seniors from getting their benefits as quickly as they should be. THIS is Republican governing: hunting for nonexistent fraud while breaking Social Security.
While her Department is spending like they don't have a budget, Kristi Noem plans to spend $50 million of your taxpayer dollars to buy herself a new Gulfstream V jet to zip around for more photo ops. New private jets for Trump officials & massive health care cuts for everyone else.
The Department of Homeland Security is planning on a new Gulfstream V jet, an agency official confirmed Wednesday, after Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Illinois) said the plane could cost up to $50 million from the U.S. Coast Guard’s budget.
We don't need fewer people keeping trains on track, ensuring airbags work, or rebuilding our roads, and we certainly don't need fewer critical staff at FAA. But the Trump admin is pushing these key personnel out in droves & making passengers less safe in the process.
Is it woke to protect people from wildfires and heat stroke?  I asked Trump's EPA Administrator why he canceled an EPA grant for the city of Spokane in my state to do exactly that. There was no explanation because there ISN'T one. Totally arbitrary. Completely irrational.
Republicans want to kick millions off their health care, but they also want to shut down Planned Parenthood, an essential health care provider. We're speaking out. NO to Medicaid cuts. NO to closing hospitals. NO to kicking kids off health care. And—NO to DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD.
Republicans are working to pass a bill to kick millions off their health care to cut taxes for billionaires. But did you know they also snuck in a provision to defund Planned Parenthood? I'm here with @ppactes.bsky.social to say NO WAY. Protect Medicaid. Protect women's health care.
Senator Murray is standing next to Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson, Senator Tammy Baldwin, Senator Maria Cantwell, and 21 other people that are all wearing pink shirts that say "I FIGHT FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD". They are standing in a carpeted room, behind a podium that has a sign that says "Planned Parenthood Saves Lives."
I shared the story of Natalie, a mom from WA state with stage 4 colorectal cancer enrolled in an NIH clinical trial, but she was told her care was delayed because of RFK Jr.'s staffing cuts. He admitted NIH cuts, "are gonna hurt."   It's unacceptable. I'm demanding accountability.
The Trump admin is doing everything it can to wreck the EPA and prevent it from making sure every American family has clean air and clean water. EPA Administrator Zeldin is threatening the health and wellbeing of American families & it’s got to stop.
Today I’m reintroducing my bill to permanently protect the #WildOlympics with @repemilyrandall.bsky.social. The Wild Olympics are a crown jewel of Washington state, bringing together families and people from all walks of life—& our bill will ensure they can be enjoyed by generations to come.
Senator Murray is standing in a white baseball cap and purple sweater, facing to the left. There are trees and some water behind her.
