Is it woke to protect people from wildfires and heat stroke?
I asked Trump's EPA Administrator why he canceled an EPA grant for the city of Spokane in my state to do exactly that.
There was no explanation because there ISN'T one. Totally arbitrary. Completely irrational.

Republicans want to kick millions off their health care, but they also want to shut down Planned Parenthood, an essential health care provider. We're speaking out.
NO to Medicaid cuts.
NO to closing hospitals.
NO to kicking kids off health care.
And—NO to DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD.
Republicans are working to pass a bill to kick millions off their health care to cut taxes for billionaires. But did you know they also snuck in a provision to defund Planned Parenthood?
I'm here with @ppactes.bsky.social to say NO WAY.
Protect Medicaid. Protect women's health care.
I shared the story of Natalie, a mom from WA state with stage 4 colorectal cancer enrolled in an NIH clinical trial, but she was told her care was delayed because of RFK Jr.'s staffing cuts.
He admitted NIH cuts, "are gonna hurt."
It's unacceptable. I'm demanding accountability.
The Trump admin is doing everything it can to wreck the EPA and prevent it from making sure every American family has clean air and clean water.
EPA Administrator Zeldin is threatening the health and wellbeing of American families & it’s got to stop.
Today I’m reintroducing my bill to permanently protect the #WildOlympics with @repemilyrandall.bsky.social.
The Wild Olympics are a crown jewel of Washington state, bringing together families and people from all walks of life—& our bill will ensure they can be enjoyed by generations to come.
Trump's trade war is far from over—and will still cost families nearly $3,000 per year. As outrageous as it is unnecessary.
Not to mention, we have no clue when or if Trump will detonate even higher tariffs.
Republicans need to join Democrats to end Trump's tariffs immediately.
Once again, anti-abortion politicians are pushing crazy junk science from right-wing extremists to justify trying to rip away access to medication abortion from women everywhere.
They're counting on people not paying attention—it's time to speak up.
@childcareaware.bsky.social does critical work to help our youngest kids and their families grow & thrive.
I'm glad I could meet with them last week to discuss my Child Care for Working Families Act & how we're fighting back against Trump's attacks on child care and pre-K.
🚨Republicans are once again trying to defund Planned Parenthood, which means defunding basic health care for millions of women: cancer screenings, birth control, reproductive health care & more.
Why? To attack reproductive freedom & pass more tax cuts for billionaires.
No way.
The rank corruption of this administration is absolutely gobsmacking.
Accepting a $400 million private jet from Qatar? What are the national security concerns? What is Qatar getting in return?
Trump is a crook, and this is the most corrupt administration in American history.
While Republicans fight to pass tax cuts for billionaires that blow up the national debt, they're also insisting that millions of Americans lose their health care.
This bill will shut down hospitals, force seniors out of nursing homes, and kick children off their health care.
Trump's Social Security Administration is filing thousands of LIVING people as dead.
It's destroying everything from their credit and banking to their ability to access health care or housing.
I'm demanding a full investigation.
This Mother's Day, I'm thinking about all the moms who are working hard to make ends meet—while Trump's tariffs drive up prices on everyday essentials from groceries to car seats.
I was in Seattle this week talking to moms about what Trump's new taxes on families will mean for them.
I spoke to leaders from Tacoma-Pierce County to talk about how Trump's dangerous trade war is hurting small businesses & making it harder to build affordable housing and how the admin is slashing housing & transportation programs that people rely on.
I'm fighting back.
Trump is decimating the Forest Service & firing the very people who help save our communities.
Not only that, but he wants to eliminate FEMA entirely. He's not just gutting the work to prevent fires—but also the work to rebuild after disaster strikes.
I'm sounding the alarm.
Straight off the plane from D.C. I headed to West Side Baby in Seattle to talk to moms about how Trump's tariffs are raising costs on everyday items families need, from strollers to car seats.
I’m rallying with parents to pressure Republicans to join me in STOPPING Trump’s Baby Tax!
Dr. Hayden is a trailblazer who has spent her entire career serving Americans and Trump callously fired her a year before the end of her term.
There is no justification for firing an extraordinary public servant like Dr. Hayden, respected on both sides of the aisle. It's a disgrace.
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy—but they already often operate on razor-thin margins & now they're taking a serious hit from Trump’s boneheaded trade war.
Republicans need to join Democrats to STOP these tariffs—that’s what I’m fighting for this #SmallBusinessWeek.
My full statement on the President “declaring” the bipartisan LAW I wrote, the Digital Equity Act, unconstitutional.
Republicans will have to explain to their constituents why this administration doesn’t believe kids in rural districts should get laptops.
