Keeping America's promise to our veterans is personal to me—from my dad's service during WWII, to interning at the Seattle VA during the Vietnam War, to the stories I hear each & every day.
By firing over 80,000 VA workers—Trump is breaking that promise.

Trump is the most pro-billionaire, anti-worker President ever—and his Executive Order ending collective bargaining for federal employees is just another way to intimidate workers and rip away their rights.
I joined Senate Democrats to demand he reverse this immediately.
Right now a woman in Georgia—who was found bleeding and unconscious outside her apartment—is sitting behind bars for MISCARRYING.
And now Republicans in 11 states are pushing bills to punish women who have abortions as murderers.
SPEAK OUT—they're hoping you don't notice.
Trump's tariffs are a TAX that will cost the average family nearly $4,000 *per year.*
Congress has the power to immediately reverse the Trump tax on families—and we should do so ASAP.
Any Republican who refuses to is joining Trump in raising prices and destroying the economy.
Medicaid recipients have their choice of qualified health care providers, and that includes Planned Parenthood.
The case before SCOTUS today is about anti-choice Republicans trying to shut down Planned Parenthood & block people from getting basic health care—& we're fighting back.
The Senate just PASSED a resolution to reverse Trump's disastrous tariffs on Canada.
Now, it's on the House to listen to the desperate pleas of American businesses, farmers, and families who can't afford Trump's costly price hikes.
Time to end this senseless trade war. 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Republicans are saying:
We gotta cut Medicaid & cancer research. Weather forecasting is donezo. VA staff, Social Security workers, & Forest Rangers? Pack your bags. Stopping measles is too expensive—so is stocking foodbanks!
BUT tax cuts for billionaires? Free. 🙄
Trump’s tariffs are a tax that families in WA state will pay on nearly everything they buy—at the grocery store, car dealership, or a local coffee shop.
Trump doesn't care if prices go up or small businesses close because it won’t affect him and his cabinet full of billionaires.
Trump doesn't give a damn about women's health care.
That has always been true—and his actions speak volumes more than his lies.
If the goal was to decimate U.S. leadership in biomedical innovation & fire scientists developing cutting-edge treatments—the Trump Administration is succeeding.
Trump & Elon are setting America back decades, undercutting research to discover lifesaving cures.
It's inexcusable.
NEW: The doctor behind breakthrough Parkinson’s research was among the scientists purged from the National Institutes of Health, the US’s leading medical research agency. www.wired.com/story/doctor...
Trump and Elon are ALREADY cutting Social Security.
When they fire thousands of staff, jam up the phone lines, and shutter offices...
When they make it nearly impossible for you to talk to a real person to get the benefits you're owed—THAT'S A BENEFIT CUT.
My friend @booker.senate.gov has been holding the Senate floor for over 24 hours—a new record—to make clear that this is NOT business as usual.
Americans are fed up with Republicans allowing Elon Musk to ransack government in service to billionaires.
We're with you, Senator Booker.
Forcing out 20,000 employees at HHS & shuttering agencies will jeopardize Americans’ health care and put lives at risk.
I'm demanding answers and transparency from Trump & RFK Jr. about these cuts & what they mean for people’s health.
Trump and Elon's cuts to veteran services and mass firings at VA are slamming the door on veterans in need—and Republicans are letting them.
It is disrespectful, ungrateful, and un-patriotic.
I joined @booker.senate.gov on the Senate floor to demand Trump & Elon reverse course ASAP.
Thank you, @booker.senate.gov for being a voice for so many.
America hears you and America is behind you.
And my colleagues on the other side of the aisle would be wise to take note.
The rest of the country certainly has. Tens of millions have tuned in to hear Senator Booker.
The warning signs are not subtle: From forcing out the top vaccine expert at the FDA to blocking a CDC assessment showing vaccines are the best way to stop measles, RFK Jr.'s anti-vax agenda is in full swing at HHS, and families are already paying the price.
This is as disturbing and dystopian as it gets.
Trump disappeared a father—with protected legal status—to a torture prison in El Salvador, admitted he was sent there mistakenly, and now refuses to bring him back.
This father must be brought home—there must be accountability.
So the top vaccine official at FDA was pushed out, and the CDC buried an assessment that emphasized the need for vaccines to stop measles.
Here's what I said on the Senate floor just ahead of RFK Jr.'s confirmation vote. No Senator should pretend they didn't see this coming.
The Trump administration's targeting of trans Americans and their heinous attacks are absolutely disgraceful.
But let me be unequivocal: trans people deserve exactly the same rights and dignity afforded to everyone else.
I'll keep fighting hard to protect trans rights.
For reasons no one can understand, Trump is starting trade wars with our allies and the rest of the world.
Just remember: It'll be the biggest peacetime tax increase ever, and he's demanding tax giveaways for billionaires while he forces prices up for YOU.
