This Republican Aviation Crisis is completely avoidable.
Nancy Pelosi’s leadership transformed Congress and made history. As the first woman to serve as Speaker, she led with courage, grace, vision and made America better for the children. Thank you, Madam Speaker, for your friendship and unwavering service to our nation.
Democrats know that Americans deserve better. We are demanding Trump pay November’s SNAP benefits in full now!

Today I joined my Democratic colleagues in condemning Trump for defying court orders and withholding food assistance from Americans. He could restore full SNAP benefits right now but chooses not to. Republicans must return to DC to negotiate a bipartisan deal that reopens the government.

Happy Halloween!🎃 Whether you’re trick-or-treating with the kids, dressing up for a party, or enjoying the spirit of the season, I hope you have a fun and safe night. Let’s keep our communities safe and remain alert while enjoying the night! #NY05
Superstorm Sandy hit New York 13 years ago today and changed our communities forever. I’ll never forget the resilience and strength New Yorkers displayed during such devastation. I'll always fight to make sure we have the federal resources to prepare for the next major storm.
My thoughts are with the people of Jamaica and the many New Yorkers with family and friends there as the island experiences its most powerful storm in history.

Ranking Member @meeks.house.gov, Ranking Member @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social and @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social are calling on the State Department to swiftly deploy necessary disaster relief assistance to Jamaica and the Caribbean ahead of Hurricane Melissa’s expected landfall:
Families across the country rely on SNAP to keep food on the table. Now, because of the Republican shutdown, hardworking Americans face uncertainty about whether they’ll be able to afford food next month.
Rep. Grace Meng and I met with hospital leaders at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center to discuss expanding access to affordable health care for Queens families. The Republican health care crisis puts care out of reach for too many Americans. Everyone deserves reliable care. It’s a basic right.
Trump and House Republicans remain completely disengaged, unwilling to negotiate a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government and drive down skyrocketing health care costs. youtu.be/5SdkxKExVYU
I visited Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, a vital part of our community providing life-saving care to Queens families. But Addabbo & health centers across the country are under attack. Republican health care cuts threaten preventive services, eliminates jobs & put American lives at risk!
Wishing a very Happy Diwali to all who celebrate! May this Festival of Lights bring joy, peace, and prosperity to your homes and communities. #NY05
Republicans have created a health care crisis. Medicaid is cut, Medicare is under attack, and health care premiums are set to double. Democrats are fighting for affordable health care for the American people. We won’t back down! youtube.com/shorts/KX8qI...
📞 Join my telephone town hall tomorrow, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m.! I’ll be discussing the Republican Health Care crisis and answering your questions.

Today, I stood with my colleagues to condemn the Supreme Court case targeting the Voting Rights Act. This law was won through courage & sacrifice. Gutting the VRA puts our democracy & communities of color at risk and leaves millions of voices unheard.
It’s Day 15 of the Republican shutdown. House Republicans are on an extended vacation, refusing to reopen the government unless they can continue cutting healthcare and raising prices on working families.
Democrats are in DC ready to work, the GOP should join us.
