In 2016, Moore was elected to serve as caucus whip of the Congressional Black Caucus for the 115th United States Congress. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Her district is based in Milwaukee and as a result of the 2011 redistricting also includes some Milwaukee County suburbs: Bayside, Brown Deer, Cudahy, Fox Point, Glendale, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, West Milwaukee, Shorewood, and Whitefish Bay. I’m hearing it loud and clear from Wisconsinites: They don't want Elon Musk and DOGE messing with the Social Security Administration.   The GOP wants to decimate the agency’s ability to function so they can justify their end goal to end Social Security as we know it.
Trump has spent nearly 30 percent of his Presidency on a tax payer funded golf outing. Looking at the deteriorating economy and the dysfunction of his Administration, you have to wonder if it wouldn’t be better if he stayed on the golf course.
Heartbroken for the passing of my former colleague and friend Nita Lowey. I fondly remember my first trip to the African continent with Nita. She was always cheerful and welcoming, and was a fierce fighter for her constituents. Rest in peace, my friend.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for my town halls today! It’s always a pleasure to speak with constituents face to face & an honor to serve WI-04. For those who had to stand or wait in overflow space, THANK YOU for staying. Stay tuned cause I’ve got more coming up! 📸 @midwestphoto.bsky.social
Elon Musk rehired the person who said he was “racist before it was cool” and put him on the team responsible for SSA firings - an agency with one of highest proportions of Black workers. The GOP demean qualified hires if they are Black or women as “DEI hires” while empowering unqualified racists.
With maternity care deserts growing and the maternal health crisis worsening in the face of abortion restrictions, the last thing rural hospitals need is for Republicans to cut their funding.   Make no mistake: that's what cutting Medicaid means. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...
Americans deserve a funding bill that meets the needs of our constituents. Senate Democrats should reject the MAGA funding bill that empowers DOGE and negotiate legislation that properly funds veterans benefits, healthcare, & housing. We must meet the moment.
The Department of Education provides: ✅Academic services to first generation college students ✅Funding to schools with high rates of poverty ✅ Resources to students with special needs The attacks on the DOE are a direct attack on our children’s futures.
Turning off the phones at the Social Security Administration would put millions at risk of being unable to get help accessing their earned benefits.   DOGE thinks seniors and disabled people don't deserve to speak with a real person if they miss a check. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
In the CR they passed yesterday, Republicans have made it clear they intend to choke off the Social Security Administration and end vital customer service functions that millions of elderly and disabled Americans rely on to access their benefits.
Right here in this building, House Republicans are planning to roll over and cede your power and your vote in Congress to DOGE and Elon Musk to control federal spending, make cuts from the Social Security Administration, and slash VA funding.
