TOWN HALL: I’m headed to Lincoln County for a public town hall on 1/17 at 10:00 AM. Hearing from Oregonians about the challenges they face and the issues they care most about shapes my work in the Senate—I hope to see you there!
Trump is jamming the news cycle full of awful things to distract us—but we can’t stop talking about the Epstein Files.
I’m fighting to enforce the law and make the sure the full files are released.
Let’s be clear: the Trump Administration is trying to use absolutely every avenue it can to tighten its authoritarian grip.
Jay Powell—whether you agree with him or not—remains steadfastly nonpartisan. We need to stand firm against Trump’s overreach and political retribution.

Health care costs are SKYROCKETING for more than 20 million Americans.
Why? Because Trump and Republicans forced through tax breaks for billionaires—and left families across the country out in the cold.
Federal agents shot two people in East Portland.
I’m demanding a full investigation that includes Oregon law enforcement—we can’t trust federal agencies to run a transparent and unbiased investigation.
ICE needs to end their dangerous operations in Oregon NOW.
Thank you, @agdanrayfield.bsky.social. It’s absolutely critical that state and local officials are involved in any investigation that happens—we need accountability. We cannot trust the Trump Administration to provide a transparent and unbiased investigation.

UPDATE: Senator Merkley is postponing his Yamhill, Polk, and Marion County town halls scheduled for Friday, January 9 so he can be present in Portland due to the shooting by federal agents of two individuals in East Portland.

There is no way we can trust anything coming from the Department of Homeland Security. They have been lying to the American people time after time.
ICE needs to end their dangerous enforcement operations in Oregon now.
We need full transparency on what happened including the role of both ICE and CBP and full accountability—a full investigation with local and state participation.
