President Trump is attempting to strip veterans of their right to access care, his latest attack against women's reproductive freedom. This underscores exactly why we must codify abortion protections into federal law. I'll keep fighting to make it happen.
Voters need their elected officials to show energy, urgency, and conviction in our fight against Trump's actions. We all know what is at risk and what this Administration's reckless policies will lead to.
On National Purple Heart Day, we honor the men and women who have risked everything to protect our freedoms, and whose unwavering courage earned them this honor. We are forever grateful for your sacrifice.
President Trump's blatant attempt to change the rules in the middle of the game through hyper-partisan redistricting in Texas isn't how democracy is meant to work. This does nothing to benefit the American people.
Today, we celebrate 60 years of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. While the work to protect access to the ballot box continues, we remember those who came before us and the progress they made. We carry on the fight they began to bring America closer to its foundational promise.
Trump's budget will make the cost of living crisis worse, raising costs for health care, food, and utilities—all to give billionaires tax breaks. Where should our focus really be? Supporting the hardworking families just trying to make ends meet.
I visited EnCompass' summer learning program at Nazareth University where Rochester students are gaining skills and confidence and engaging with their community. Grateful to see their important work firsthand and proud to support programs that invest in our youth.
Trillium and health centers like it are lifelines for Rochester families. Trump's cuts to Medicaid put their future—and our neighbors’ access to care—at risk. I’m standing with our local partners to protect the healthcare our community depends on.
The work the Corporation for Public Broadcasting does educates and connects communities, especially in times of crisis. Republicans' decision to force its closure is a loss for the American people and won’t do a thing to solve this country's challenges.
Today we celebrated the expansion of the APEX Accelerator—bringing more resources, funding & collaboration to innovators across our region. Grateful for County Executive Bello's leadership on an investment that strengthens Rochester's role as a leader in optics, quantum, and defense.
Today marks 235 years of the @uscg.bsky.social. I'm deeply grateful for the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our great nation, keeping Americans safe and protecting our waters and maritime industry at home and abroad.
The disastrous budget bill is the worst piece of legislation we have seen in generations.   I'm working for solutions that uplift our families and connect them with resources that help them thrive, not leave them unsupported.
President Trump’s reckless tariffs are driving up prices across the board. Instead of standing for families, workers, and small businesses, Republicans are rubber-stamping these harmful policies, forcing hardworking Americans to shoulder the burden.
I'm calling on the Trump administration to eliminate the backlog of applications for legal status and work permits from Ukrainians in the U.S. We must uphold our commitments and preserve protections for those affected by this terrible war.
Since Russia began its unprovoked war, tens of thousands of Ukrainians have sought refuge in the U.S. After years of working, paying taxes, and contributing to our communities, they're living in a state of limbo.
Trump's decision to end programs that support our Afghan allies betrays the individuals who stood by our troops and diminishes our national security.
