Today, I was proud to stand with Rep. Josh Gottheimer and Rep. Mike Lawler in re-introducing the Antisemitism Awareness Act. This bill has broad bipartisan support in the House, and it’s time for the Senate to advance this legislation to protect Jewish students on our campuses.
Thank you to athletes from Florida's Special Olympics delegation for visiting our office! Bradley, Savannah, and Sara are all doing great work building awareness of Special Olympics programs, and I'm happy to support federal partnerships that provide vital services to athletes.
This #WorldCancerDay, I’m thinking of my dad who passed away from pancreatic cancer and all the patients and families facing this terrible disease. I’m committed to doing whatever I can and working with anyone I can to support the tools and research we need to finally beat it.
Today, I introduced a bipartisan resolution to counter the existential threat of a nuclear Iran. Iran must dismantle its nuclear program, and this resolution with Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. John Fetterman, and Rep. Mike Lawler makes clear America will consider every tool to address it.
Floridians should have as many tools as possible to better prepare their home for disaster. So Rep. Laurel Lee and I introduced the READY Account Act to create tax-free savings accounts for disaster preparedness, help families stay ready, and keep hard-earned money in their pocket.
Hundreds of thousands of FL seniors rely on hearing aids to go about life, and meeting that medical necessity shouldn't be a financial burden. I'm backing the Medicare Hearing Aid Coverage Act so Medicare expands to finally cover hearing aids and exams. floridapolitics.com/archives/717...
I’m following the reports of a commercial flight colliding with a military helicopter near Reagan National Airport in DC. My thoughts and prayers are with everybody involved in this tragedy and am thankful to the first responders. Hoping for some miracles.
This Holocaust Remembrance Day marks 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, I mourn the 6 million Jews and millions of others murdered in the Holocaust and commit to fighting against antisemitism wherever it exists. #NeverAgain
52 years ago, Roe v Wade affirmed women’s right to make their own healthcare decisions- until the Court took that freedom away. Personal healthcare decisions should be just that- personal - not dictated by politicians, judges, or bureaucrats. We must return to the Roe standard.
This Gun Violence Survivors Week, we mourn those killed in this senseless crisis and recognize the long-lasting toll it takes on survivors. People shouldn’t live in fear their town will face the same tragedy as my hometown of Parkland. We must act to protect our communities.
MLK Day reminds us that today and every day, we must work to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We must stand against hate and discrimination in all forms, ensure every voice among us is heard, and strive to uphold the vision of equality and justice he stood for.
I’m proud to be returning to @houseforeign.bsky.social in the 119th Congress and honored to lead the Subcommittee on Oversight and Intelligence as Ranking Member. I look forward to standing by America’s allies and protecting our national security interests.
The news of a hostage deal between Israel & Hamas is greatly encouraging. Only because of military realities on the ground has Hamas finally agreed to a ceasefire. Thanks to both President Biden and President-elect Trump for helping make the return of these hostages a bipartisan issue.
With the signing of the Social Security Fairness Act into law, hardworking public servants like teachers, police officers & firefighters will finally get access to the full social security benefits they’re counting on. These Floridians earned it, and our law helps deliver it.
I’m proud to have been selected to join the House Judiciary Committee! As a graduate of MSD High School in Parkland, I came to Congress to prevent senseless gun violence. I look forward to working with my colleagues to keep communities safe and protect our democratic values.
Judge Peter Weinstein dedicated his career to serving the people of Broward County. I’m grateful for his years of distinguished service and friendship, and I’m honored to have joined him and his family for the much-deserved dedication of this county courtroom in his honor.
