I’m relieved that after pressure from me and my colleagues, the Administration is releasing these resources for Broward Public Schools. Our public schools rely on them for everything from after-school programs to teacher training, and ending this freeze gets them funds they planned for.
I stopped by the Congressional Hurricane Preparedness & Recovery Symposium this week to talk about the challenges of the 2025 hurricane season and beyond. As the only former emergency manager in Congress, I’m committed to getting hurricane relief to all those in their moment of need.

The 3rd Annual Sneaker Day on the Hill was a success! Shoes can be stylish, they can be job creators, and days like today show that shoes can bring people together. #SneakerCaucus

"FEMA is in worse shape than we know and we're being told, and I actually think the White House is finding out how bad a shape it's in." @repmoskowitz.bsky.social talks that and more with @timmiller.bsky.social

"The conspiracy they were told is that the only people on the list were Democrats. It was the Clintons, it was gonna be Bill Gates. It never dawned on anyone that there might be some very powerful Republicans, and maybe the most powerful."

👟It’s that time of year again! 👟

Right now, the presidential library system allows donations of unlimited value from anonymous donors and even foreign governments. Today, I introduced commonsense reforms with @warren.senate.gov, @blumenthal.senate.gov, Rep. Stansbury, & Rep. Raskin to subject every president to new ethics rules.

Under the Administration’s freeze on public education funding, Broward Public Schools are missing more than $30M in critical education resources.
I’m leading my Broward-area colleagues demanding they release these funds and ensure FL students and teachers have what they need to succeed.
Today marks 60 years since the Older Americans Act was signed into law, providing critical funding for elder care and nutritional programs like Meals on Wheels.
In Congress, I’m focused on strengthening these programs and ensuring our seniors can live with dignity.
I visited Alligator Alcatraz today with several of my congressional colleagues to fulfill our duty and conduct necessary oversight. What we saw today is a ridiculous project built in the Florida Everglades solely for political purposes.
I stopped by Sinai Residences in Boca Raton to meet with residents, tour the community, and hear what additional support our senior living centers need. From wellness resources to health services, it’s vital our seniors have access to the tools to live with dignity and security.

“Noem has no idea what she’s doing”: As rescue efforts continue in Texas after devastating floods, questions are mounting about FEMA’s ability to respond. @repmoskowitz.bsky.social joins The Weeknight to sound the alarm.
As a former emergency management director, I’ve been alarmed by how Sec. Noem has handled the tragic flooding in Texas.
I’m calling for an investigation into reports of FEMA’s delayed response. Congress has to get answers, strengthen emergency management, and protect the public.
Happy 62nd birthday to the city of Coral Springs! I’m proud to have my district office located in Coral Springs City Hall, and it’s an honor to serve such a vibrant community in Congress. Wishing the city many more years of prosperity!
