It's been 60yrs since the Selma March, a courageous act that emphasized the right to protest is integral to furthering rights for all. The Trump Admin's unlawful detainment of student Mahmoud Khalil threatens our First Amendment. We must protect foundational rights to peaceful protest & free speech.
She’s now worried that Trump’s cuts will result in her being unable to afford rent, bills or food. People’s health is literally on the line and my personal experience of recently being hospitalized really hit home how much Trump and his Republicans will be hurting people by cutting Medicaid. 3/3🧵
Recently, a 70-yo woman called my office afraid of Republicans’ plan to cut Medicaid – she’d worked as a house cleaner for 42 years, was recently diagnosed with lupus & now has arthritis. She’s paid taxes & worked her entire life & needs Medicaid for health care & social security to survive. 2/3🧵
Today, I toured UCSF where 70% of patients rely on Medicaid. Republicans’ & Trump’s plans to slash this critical health insurance program is utterly shameful. I am proud to stand alongside Democrats in fighting back. 🧵1/3
Trump’s abuse of power and flagrant disregard for the judicial system sets an alarming precedent. No one—especially the President—is above the law. That’s why I introduced legislation demanding the Trump Administration comply with all court orders. kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/03/05/a...
President Trump attacked a federal judge in a social media post for ordering a pause in deportations being carried out under an obscure wartime law. The judge has ordered the Trump administration to provide more information by noon as he investigates. Follow updates.
Over 172,000 of our neighbors in CA-15 rely on Medicaid. The Republican budget would force the largest cuts to Medicaid in U.S. history, just to give tax breaks to billionaires. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will not stop fighting to protect Americans' lifesaving healthcare.
Proud to help lead this effort with my @equality.house.gov colleagues rejecting the Trump administration's discriminatory and harmful passport policy.
Today, CEC Co-Chairs @repjuliejohnson.bsky.social & @repemilyrandall.bsky.social, with CEC Members @kevinmullin.house.gov & @amo.house.gov, led 82 Members of Congress in demanding OMB reject the latest attempt to implement Trump's anti-trans passport policy. Full letter at the link in our bio.
82 Members of Congress Demand OMB Reject Latest Attempt to Implement Trump’s Anti-Trans Passport Policy. Today, 82 Members of Congress, led by Congressional Equality Caucus Co-Chairs Rep. Julie Johnson (TX-32) and Rep. Emily Randall (WA-06) and CEC Members Rep. Kevin Mullin (CA-15) and Rep. Gabe Amo (RI-01), sent a public comment letter to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) demanding OMB reject proposed changes to U.S. passport forms that would further implement Trump’s anti-trans passport policy by requiring applicants to list their “biological sex at birth” and by only providing male and female options. Read the full letter at the link in our bio. IMAGE: A U.S. passport sitting on a world map.
Happy Holi all who celebrate in CA-15 and around the world! Holi is a time for communities to gather together and celebrate the arrival of spring. May the Festival of Colors bring joy, renewal, and hope for the coming year.
Mahmoud Khalil's arrest is a dangerous attack on the first amendment rights this country was founded on. Proud to join over 100 House Democratic colleagues in demanding answers from the Trump Administration about this unconscionable abuse of power.
Exclusive: More than 100 House Democrats sent a letter to top Trump officials, decrying the arrest of former Columbia graduate student Mahmoud Khalil.
Looking forward to co-chairing the new Innovation & Technology task force with @salinas.house.gov! Our planet's future depends on our ability to create innovative solutions to climate change. Read more about the work we'll be doing: kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/03/12/r...
Our Task Forces in the 119th will focus on securing a healthy & prosperous future for all by advocating for climate-smart agriculture, cleaner & cheaper energy, pro-worker policies, clean air & water, resilient housing, & innovative research in America!
Last night, I voted NO on the Republican spending bill. My Democratic colleagues & I are ready to support a common sense, bipartisan budget. But Republicans’ cuts would be devastating for working families across the country. Read my full statement: kevinmullin.house.gov/2025/03/12/r...
It's been 60 years since hundreds of marchers were attacked in Selma, Alabama while demonstrating for the right to vote. Today, the fight for voting rights is just as urgent. That's why I'm a proud supporter of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. #RestoreTheVote
My dad was a public high school teacher for 32 years. Parents & educators know that America's students need more opportunities to succeed. Dismantling the Department of Education means larger class sizes, less support, and fewer opportunities for students. apnews.com/article/educ...
