We're up to 1️⃣4️⃣.5️⃣! Excited to announce another two local communities received community project funding - congrats to City of East Palo Alto & City of Brisbane One of the most meaningful parts of my work is securing federal support for the local projects our communities depend on.
Republicans still want to spend another $70B on ICE to terrorize communities. Americans are fed up and we need to keep up the pressure. I refuse to give another dime to ICE while it carries out Trump's inhumane immigration machine without any accountability.
Today made it crystal clear: it was House Republicans who chose to shut down DHS & withhold funding for FEMA, Coast Guard, & TSA which directly caused chaos at airports across the country. They own this shutdown - the longest in US history - & waited 76 days before doing exactly what they did today.
Americans deserve confidence in their democracy— Today I co-chaired the first Anti-Corruption & Democracy Reform Task Force meeting with Rep. Morelle, @repnikema.bsky.social, & @ramirez.house.gov & heard from experts like @americalabs.org on how to weed out corruption across the government.
Always a pleasure to meet with @caltrain.com CEO Michelle Bouchard in my DC office to discuss how vital Caltrain is to our district and in connecting the whole Bay Area. Equally exciting to hear about record ridership numbers on the all electric fleet.
Enjoyed meeting with the San Mateo Labor Council to discuss the important work the builders do to create communities. I'm committed to combatting the Trump Administration's anti-labor policies and ensure workers are paid fair wages.
#HappyBringYourKidstoWorkDay! While the boys don’t get to visit DC that often, it’s always a joy showing them around the Capitol. Being part of the Congressional Dads Caucus reminds me of the importance of advancing family-friendly policies nationwide.
Congratulations to Switch Bioworks on their new headquarters in San Carlos and the groundbreaking work they're doing to develop more efficient alternatives to fertilizer to help feed communities worldwide. Proud to support this kind of transformative biotechnology innovation in CA-15 and beyond.
Great to meet with @ucsanfrancisco.bsky.social Chancellor Sam Hawgood to discuss the importance of protecting federal research funding for NIH in the face of harmful Republican cuts to lifesaving scientific innovation.
Trump must rescind his EO restricting vote-by-mail, not only is implementation totally infeasible, but it's another a corrupt power grab by the president. We must defend the independence of the Postal Service & stand with local elections workers who support our democracy w free & fair elections.
BIG NEWS 🚨 @repchrispappas.bsky.social and I just sent a letter with more than 100 of our colleagues to President Trump on his illegal executive order to restrict vote-by-mail. I urge the Admin to reverse course and protect access to vote-by-mail and the independence of the Postal Service.
Happy Earth Day to everyone in CA-15! 🌎 Today is the perfect time to get out of the house and appreciate the natural spaces around the Bay Area. It’s a reminder for all of us to do our part in protecting the planet we call home.
When I questioned Energy Sec. Wright he ADMITTED Trump knew his reckless war on Iran would raise gas prices for working families. High costs are predicted to continue through 2027, and Republicans are refusing to stop Trump and his unpopular war draining millions of dollars from American taxpayers.
