This lawsuit is an important step in defending the First Amendment and a reminder that the agency must remain independent, serve the public interest, and never be used to advance a political agenda or punish the press.
Last month, I led a coalition of lawmakers in opposing this abuse and urging the FCC to stop its early license review of eight ABC stations, including our local KGO-TV. Trump and the FCC’s actions threaten free speech, the Constitution, and an independent press.
I’m glad to see Disney and ABC standing up to the FCC over its effort to silence the press and suppress free speech. www.nbcnews.com/business/bus...
On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified, finally granting women the right to vote. Today, Republican's SAVE America Act threatens to roll back that progress, especially for married women who changed their name.
Moments like this remind us that preparedness can’t wait until a storm's on the horizon. With El Niño approaching, now's the time to check emergency supplies, review evacuation routes, sign up for local alerts & make sure our families, neighbors & communities know what to do before disaster strikes.
My heart goes out to the families and communities impacted by Hurricane Lala in Hawaiʻi and I’m thinking of everyone facing the difficult work of recovering and rebuilding.
Flooding rain and strong winds are continuing to move through Hawaii after Hurricane Lala passed by the islands overnight, before weakening slightly Sunday morning to a tropical storm with 65 mph sustained winds and heavy rain.
Four years ago today, the Inflation Reduction Act became law. The fight to protect its benefits continues, with a major court victory this week restoring $20 billion in climate and clean energy grants.
Americans have paid $3,500 more for everyday essentials since Trump took office. While families keep paying more, Trump has found new ways to profit — rewarding himself and his billionaire backers while Americans foot the bill.
During a recent visit to Electroflow Technologies in San Bruno, I learned how they extract battery-grade lithium from saltwater. This cleaner alternative to traditional mining is a great example of how domestic, renewable energy supports local communities.
Happy back-to-school week to everyone in CA-15 and across California! Wishing students, families, and teachers a wonderful school year ahead. Let’s all drive carefully and help keep our kids safe on the roads. 📚🎒🚸
Pipeline safety is important, and tragically the City of San Bruno knows this firsthand. We shouldn't tie the hands of our regulators when it comes to safety, I will continue urging the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration to prioritize public protection over regulatory shortcuts.
Under democratic leadership, the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act helped boost domestic semiconductor manufacturing, funds for scientific research, and created tens of thousands of jobs across the country.
I had the honor of visiting the San Bruno VA Clinic to celebrate their 20th anniversary. As we take today to celebrate Purple Heart Day, I'm reminded of the importance of supporting our veterans and honoring the sacrifices they've made for our nation.
Every family deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. That's why I'm cosponsoring the Green New Deal for Public Housing Act, which aligns with my bill the WRAP Act. These efforts would help keep people housed, protect our environment, and prioritize good-paying jobs.
