The Virginia League of @ppfa.org East End Health Center provides reproductive, gender-affirming and primary care to many Medicaid and uninsured patients.
I spoke to their Medical Director about the impact of the Big Ugly Law and the Trump Administration’s Title X funding freeze on their patients.
Last week, I traveled to Surry to discuss the Big Ugly Law and the Trump Administration’s actions with faith leaders, food bank officers, farmers market managers and the owners of the county’s only grocery store.

ICYMI: I spoke with Becky Lakin on Many Hands Live about who will be impacted the most by the Big Ugly Law: the hungry, the sick and our most vulnerable.
This was a busy week in the district talking to constituents about the impact of the Big Ugly Law.
Keep watching for some highlights.

August recess provides an opportunity to meet with community leaders to connect my work in Congress to the people we serve.
Today, I held a roundtable with faith leaders in Surry to discuss how the Big Ugly Law will impact rural communities.
Even after a 16-month hospital stay, Rev. Washington continued serving his country. As a Chaplain Assistant and now hospice chaplain, he has offered support for hundreds of service members and their families.
To him and so many others across our district and nation: thank you!
On National #PurpleHeartDay, we celebrate the brave service members and veterans who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

Last night, the Trump Administration implemented the highest global tariffs since the Great Depression — some as high as 50%. Very few countries were spared.
What does this mean for you?
Costs will go up on everything from coffee to sneakers, toys, groceries, medications and more.
I sat down with Becky Lakin on Many Hands Live for a community conversation on the Big Ugly Bill’s Medicaid and SNAP cuts and what keeps me going amidst the chaos in Congress.
