The scariest thing this Halloween is how empty Washington is during this government shutdown. 22 million Americans will see their health insurance premiums increase because Republicans refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, and the Republicans are nowhere to be found.
Donald Trump is refusing to use SNAP's emergency fund to ensure working families and seniors can access food assistance next month. He wants this shutdown to hurt and is making it as painful as possible for Americans instead of coming to the table to reopen the government.
On Saturday, families across the countries will see their healthcare insurance premiums soar. I’m in Washington working to end this shutdown and lower the cost of healthcare. But my Republicans colleagues are no where to be found. It’s time they come back to Washington and help us end this.
Thirteen years after Superstorm Sandy, I remember the destruction and the resilience of our communities. Natural disasters are only getting worse, and today our thoughts are also with those impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
Across South Jersey, families are feeling the effects of the Republican shutdown. One couple from Merchantville has dedicated their lives to public service, yet is struggling to keep food on the table. It's time for Republicans to come to the table and help us reopen the government.
Millions of families, seniors, and veterans rely on SNAP to put food on the table. With the Trump shutdown threatening to cut off these benefits, I joined my colleagues in urging USDA to act now and protect access to food for those who need it most.
Instead of working to reopen the government and lower healthcare costs, Speaker Johnson and House Republicans are on vacation. The American people deserve a government that works for them. It's time for Republicans to come back to work.
Hundreds of thousands of federal workers, including air traffic controllers, firefighters, and nurses, are being forced to work without pay. The Trump Administration is only paying certain workers during the shutdown, but I say every worker deserves a paycheck. thehill.com/opinion/cong...
Last night I hosted my second telephone town hall during the Republican shutdown. Over 60% of those on the call said they will have to pay more for healthcare next year. South Jersey deserves better, and that's why I'm fighting to reopen the government and lower healthcare costs.
In Camden this week, I heard from neighbors about how the Trump shutdown is hitting families hard. Democrats are fighting to reopen the government and protect healthcare. Thank you, Mayor Carstarphen and the Camden City Council, for bringing our community together for these important conversations.
