In the 3 years since it was signed into law, the Inflation Reduction Act is helping working families by lowering prescription drug prices, capping insulin, and investing in a clean energy future. Trump and Republicans are trying to roll back these investments, but I am fighting back.
This week, I announced a $6.4 million investment to upgrade the Camden Fire Department's firehouses and fire trucks. Every emergency call our firefighters answer carries risks, and having reliable, modern equipment can make the difference between life and death.
It was great to catch up with Collingswood Mayor Daniela Solano-Ward and Deputy Mayor Amy Henderson Riley this week. We got to grab ice cream at Bombastic and chat about how we can help improve public safety, education, and housing in our local communities.
Yesterday, I visited the Food Bank of South Jersey to sound the alarm on the cuts to food assistance in Trump's Big Ugly Bill. These devastating cuts could leave 97,000 people in my district without food. It's disgraceful. Food is a right, not a privilege.
90 years ago, President Roosevelt signed Social Security into law, changing American lives for the better. Today, I am fighting to protect the benefits our seniors paid into and earned by pushing back on Trump and Republicans' efforts to privatize and dismantle the program.
Thank you to the over 10,000 constituents who participated in my telephone town hall last night! Trump’s Big Ugly Law is the largest cuts to healthcare and food assistance in US history. You can count on me to continue to fight back against these devastating cuts and stand up for South Jersey.
Our interns keep our office running smoothly and I can't thank them enough for all they do. It was great to sit down and talk with my summer interns about their future career aspirations and what they learned from this internship.
Our children's education and the quality of their schools should not be determined by zip code. Eastside High is long overdue for a new building, and yesterday marked an important step toward making that a reality.
Trump’s H.R. 1 isn’t just a bad bill, it’s a betrayal of those who served our country in uniform. 🚫 Cuts SNAP for 1.2M veterans 🚫 Slashes Medicaid access 🚫 Guts student loan support Veterans gave everything. I am fighting back to make sure our bravest get what they earned from a grateful nation.
2 years ago, the PACT Act was signed into law to give toxic-exposed veterans the care they earned. It is a shame that Trump and Republicans choose not to continue funding this program. I will always work to defend veterans from these attacks and ensure they get the benefits they deserve.
Under Donald Trump, the VA is losing tens of thousands of employees, 30,000 and counting. This isn’t by accident. It’s a planned effort to gut the system our veterans rely on. Fewer staff means longer wait times, fewer services, and worse care.
3 years ago, the CHIPS and Science Act became law, sparking investments in American manufacturing, innovation, & good-paying jobs. This law is key to strengthening research, supply chains, & keeping the U.S. competitive on the world stage. I’m standing strong to defend it against attacks from Trump.
In 200 days, Trump has cut food assistance for our seniors, veterans, and children, taken healthcare away from 17 million Americans, and stripped federal workers of their collective bargaining rights. American families deserve better.
The reports of chemical agents being released on striking Teamsters in New Jersey and Illinois are outrageous. This is a clear intimidation tactic to prevent these workers from getting a fair contract. No worker should ever fear for their health or safety while exercising their right to organize.
National Purple Heart Day is a time to remember the men and women who were wounded in action, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, standing in harm’s way for our country. We honor their sacrifice, their courage, and their commitment to protecting our democracy.
