Don’t get it twisted. Republicans' SAVE Act is an undemocratic voter suppression bill that makes it harder to vote for service members, married women, rural voters, folks of color, & millions of other US citizens. I voted NO. 19thnews.org/2025/04/save...

Republicans want to repeal the CFPB's cost-saving and life-changing rule to cap bank overdraft fees at just $5. This will harm our most vulnerable consumers the most. It’s a shame that Republicans are attacking poor people just to help greedy bank CEOs get richer.
While Trump fires federal workers & sparks a trade war that'll raise costs, he gave the US Trade Representative two other jobs meant to protect those workers & enforce ethics. This is a conflict of interest & Jamieson Greer must resign from those roles immediately. www.huffpost.com/entry/jamies...
Schools should be a place for students to learn & thrive—not be policed & criminalized. With Republicans attacking education & vulnerable students, I'm reintroducing my bills to invest in safe, nurturing learning environments for all. Every student has a right to learn in a setting free from fear.
#HR40Reparations is about truth, reconciliation, and accountability for the structural injustices that continue to ravage Black communities. I sat down with @northeasternu.bsky.social’s Center for Law, Equity and Race to discuss action steps as we continue our shared push for reparations.

I rose on the House floor to give Ms. Alfreda Harris her well-deserved flowers. A living legend, mother of movements, & a champion for everyone who calls Boston home. She is a source of inspiration for many & has not stopped being a history-maker. We love you, Ms. Harris!
Donald Trump’s tariffs are hurting consumers and wrecking our economy. And he couldn’t care less. He’s driving our allies away, forcing families to pay higher prices, & walking us to an economic crisis.
While Trump campaigned on a pledge to lower prices for struggling Americans, his tariffs are expected to increase the cost of everything from kids’ shoes to fresh produce.
Youth Guidance Boston is doing transformative work to keep our students in school and improve outcomes for at-risk young men and women. I'm grateful for the work they do pouring into our youth and for the opportunity to meet with them during our recent district work period.

Trump’s attack on Title X funding is an attack on women, health care, and vulnerable people. I'm joining the @reprocaucus.bsky.social & @demwomencaucus.bsky.social demanding Secretary Kennedy restore these funds & services that millions of our constituents depend on. time.com/7274529/hous...
@warren.senate.gov, @markey.senate.gov, and I demand that DHS immediately provide her access to the care she needs, restore her visa, and release her. Every minute she remains in custody is another minute her health and rights are at risk.
🚨UPDATE: Rümeysa Öztürk has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in DHS custody. She has not received her required asthma medications—a violation of her fundamental right to medical care. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.
Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (1/2):

“It is unconscionable that Rümeysa Öztürk—a young woman pursuing her education, exercising her First Amendment rights, and contributing to her community—remains detained by DHS. Her ongoing incarceration is not only a blatant violation of her constitutional rights to due process and free speech, but it is now an egregious denial of her fundamental right to medical care.
Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (2/2):

“According to her lawyer, Rümeysa has not received her required asthma medications and has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in custody. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.

“As her representatives in Congress, we demand DHS immediately provide Rümeysa with access to the health care she needs, and absent compelling evidence justifying her detention and the revocation of her status, we call for Ozturk’s release and the restoration of her visa. Every minute she remains in custody is another minute her health and rights are at risk, and DHS must move with urgency.”
This week, my Somerville constituent Rümeysa Öztürk was abducted in broad daylight by DHS officials and sent to Louisiana to be locked in a detention center. She has not been charged with any crime.
