Protesters are outside the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) after the Trump admin brought the agency to a halt. Most of the offices above us are dark.
Rep. Pressley is at the mic — “THIS is what we're gonna dismantle? What in the hell kind of government efficiency is that?”
Policy is my love language.
And I'll always fight for policies that are rooted in love and informed by joy.
Happy Valentine’s Day, family!
On one hand, Donald Trump will steal from working class people through a crypto-scam.
On the other hand, the hardworking staff at CFPB will fight to get people their money back.
That’s why we need this essential agency to be reopened to finish its necessary work.

Yesterday, I proudly stood alongside @pressley.house.gov as she reintroduced H.R. 40, the bill to establish a federal commission to study and develop reparations proposals for Black Americans. I am honored to carry forward the legacy of Congressman John Conyers and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

"As Secretary Kennedy begins his tenure today, he does so having already hedged on critical questions...We hope this will not be an accurate reflection of his actions at the helm of our nation's vital health agency."

Putting an anti-vax conspiracy theorist—who won't commit to protecting abortion care in America—in charge of our public health is an absolute disgrace.
I'll do everything I can to hold him accountable and protect the health and safety of everyone who calls this country home.
Our #HR40Reparations bill is an essential step toward repairing the harm of slavery and its aftermath.
As America witnesses an onslaught of anti-Black, anti-DEI policy, we’re not backing down in our pursuit of healing & reparatory justice.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley will reintroduce a federal reparations bill at what she describes as an "inflection point" for the country.
Trump and Musk don't want watchdogs like the CFPB protecting the people.
They want big banks and bad actors to run rampant and take people for a ride.
They want to pillage the government and make themselves rich.
But we won't let them.

Trump's attack on NIH funding is a reckless attack on science, innovation, and the people who depend on them.
It will gut critical research, kill jobs, and put lives at risk—especially in the #MA7, a global hub for cutting-edge research.

Musk & Trump are purging non-partisan civil servants, gutting DEI, & firing those who conduct govt oversight.
By installing loyalists, silencing dissent, & dismantling our agencies, they’re laying the groundwork for corruption & authoritarianism.
We must & we will fight back.
Elon Musk has repeatedly broken the law to gain control of our government.
This is an important win in the fight to save our democracy.

The CFPB has returned billions of dollars to consumers by cracking down on predatory lending, junk fees, medical debt, and more.
Now, Trump's appointee is halting the bureau's work.
He's never given a damn about protecting consumers, and this is just the latest reminder of that.
Trump’s onslaught against diversity, equity, and inclusion has never been about efficiency or "meritocracy."
It's about re-segregating America and attacking our civil rights.

Trump is letting an unelected, unaccountable billionaire raid your most sensitive financial information.
And Democrats are fighting back.
Our bill would protect your personal data and help stop Elon Musk's unlawful takeover of our government.

Women deserve to know the TRUTH about the impact of Texas' total abortion ban.
Today, I along with Rep. Gerry Connolly, Rep. Summer Lee, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley sent ANOTHER letter calling on
Texas to explain why it won't release maternal mortality data from the past 2 years after Dobbs.

“I'm so tired of these billionaire boys and their grubby little hands grabbing at everything,” @pressley.house.gov told protestors outside Treasury last night.
“Hands off our data. Hands off our tax refunds. Hands off our SS checks. Hands off our Constitution. Hands off our democracy. HANDS. OFF!”
