@reed.senate.gov comments on US Senate voting 50-48 for a war powers resolution seeking to block U.S. military action against Iran, saying, “President Trump launched this irresponsible war without any coherent strategy and against the will of the American people."
Americans strongly disapprove of President Trump's reckless Iran war & today the full U.S Senate voted 50-48 to put a check on President Trump’s actions, halting further military operations in Iran.

Met with Rhode Island business and nonprofit leaders at the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce's annual Congressional Breakfast to discuss how I’m fighting to lower costs and strengthen RI’s economy & workforce.
50 years of Pride in RI! #Pride is both a celebration & an affirmation that #LoveisLove and everyone deserves the same freedoms & rights under the law.
Special thanks to Rhode Island Slave History Medallions for bringing history to life with another inspiring and engaging #NewportJuneteenth celebration at Fort Adams!

Wishing all the dads & father-figures out there a very special Father’s Day! Thanks for all you do to raise us, teach us, & love us. Happy Father’s Day!
Let freedom ring! On this day in 1865, news reached enslaved people in Galveston, TX that freedom had finally arrived.
As we celebrate & reflect on #Juneteenth, we remember the challenges & responsibilities we all share in working toward a more perfect union for all Americans.
The coming weeks will determine whether this ceasefire holds & real negotiations follow. But Trump’s catastrophic war is not at all justified by this weak outcome.
I’m calling on Trump Admin to immediately come before Congress. Answers & accountability must come next.
Trump’s new agreement doesn’t stop Iran from enriching uranium or developing nuclear components. Instead, it freezes the status quo to wait for ‘future negotiations.’
Meanwhile, Trump has agreed to immediately lift sanctions on Iran.
Frankly, this is just gross negligence.
After 100+ days of war, Trump secured little more than an agreement to start talking about Iran’s nuclear program. Trump chose war instead of diplomacy, forced Americans to pay for it, & in return got a ‘deal’ objectively far weaker than the JCPOA he walked away from 8 years ago.
While dining at Versailles, Pres. Trump signed an ‘agreement’ to end hostilities with Iran. Every American should be relieved this war is ending, but Trump deserves neither credit nor celebration for this outcome.
Trump’s war was a catastrophic mistake.
GOOD NEWS: After @whitehouse.senate.gov & I helped the Senate unanimously pass bipartisan Saving the OOI Act last night, the Trump Admin has reversed its plan to dismantle critical NSF tool for researching ocean health.
Big win for our fishermen, climate, coastal communities, & oceans.
Celebrating our progress along the Woonasquatucket where federal investments & community collaboration came together for new & improved section of the Greenway on Kinsley & Promenade. Kudos to @wrwcri.bsky.social for all their terrific work!
Red, white, and blue: The flag represents all of us. It’s a unifying symbol that reminds us to live up to America’s values & promise. The stars & stripes embodies E plurbus unum ("Out of many one”). We are The United States of America. Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸
#GaspeeDays are here again! Every year, RIers gather along Narragansett Parkway to celebrate RI’s central role in sparking the American Revolution. Here in the Ocean State, we’ve never lost that fiery spirit! 🔥
Grateful for staff & volunteers of the American Lung Association in RI for all of their advocacy. Stopped in to thank them before their annual #LungForce Walk kicked off here at Roger Williams Park. Proud to support their critical work!
